bben46
If you really have the urge to completely reinstall, remenber that the uninstall dosn't really uninstall everything. It leaves behind the data folder, including Oblivion.esm, The saves folder, including Oblivion.ini, and worst of all, several entries in the Windows registry that can come back and cause problems later. Whatever you do, do not just erase the folders as that causes another problem when you try to reinstall. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus....icle.php?id=240 FYI, Shivering Isles is an update to Oblivion, and not a mod. If you look at it, the ShiveringIsles.esp is empty, it is a dummy file, a placeholder that allows you to leave SI out of your game. The actual SI is incorporated into the Oblivion.exe and becomes a permanent part of the game - It cannot be removed. If you have the GOTY version of Oblivion, when you install the SI part it automatically updates to the latest patch. If you do not have GOTY and need to patch. LOAD SI FIRST, then install ONLY the SI patch and NOT the Oblivion patch. If you install the Oblivion only patch, then the SI patch will not install!
