policeman
OK Ok... there is probably someone who already did that topic... but well... i need too know everything for create a mod. Because i have too make a werewolf mod. Curse of hicine just doesn't work (even if i only have oblivion.esm and CurseOfHircine.esp) and i've tried a druid mod where you can turn into werewolf but its quite not well... so i want to create my own werewolf mod with a new fighting style, new meshe and texture for werewolf look, new animation and all that deserve to be with a werewolf mod ...like a way to cure the disease for those who get an unwilling infected character, werewolf hunter and new weapon for werewolf hunting. I want to do something BIG so i want too know what i need for modding and maybe help for finish the mod faster. So if you can give me some programme name or even better a link to it, that would be cool. Ho! And don't fear too give feed back! it's maybe a perssonal project but, of course, i'll put it on TESNexus for those who want to download it, so if you have something that you like too find in a werewolf mod (but not sexual stuff...) i'll surely put it in. xxfmanxx
First you need tesconstructionset. When you open tesconstructionset go on "help" and then "contents", there you will find guides for everything. and you can try youtube for video guides. krimzin
Lesson Number 1- English: A crucial element. If you speak it, they will come. Grammar is important too.Lesson Number 2- This site. It is your new bible, assuming you had a bible in the first place. If not, this is your bible, regardless.Lesson Number 3- Sever all ties. To breathe life into a good mod, you must sacrifice your own. Make your pc as much a part of you as your own arms, assuming of course you have arms. Otherwise, same sentence replacing "arms" with whatever you used to type your request.Lesson Number 4- Don't assume other people's intelligence. What is common sense to you, is alien to others.Lesson Number 5- Be independent. Don'l let others tell you how to do things. Learn to yourself, lest you be badly misinformed.Lesson Number 6- Don't contradict yourself. Oh, wait...Lesson Number 7- Ignore the previous lesson.Lesson Number 8- Perseverance pays off later, laziness pays off now. That's why I'm stopping the list here. But you be the better man/woman and be sure never to put off your mod. Class dismissed lol :wallbash:
kieranfoy
1. The very moment you put up a file, even if you take only tend seconds to get your pictures up, some ignorant SOB is gonna come complaining, "No pics, no clicks!" So set your file to hidden while you add pictures of your mod. 2. Be blunt. Commentors are a whiny, over-privledged lot that have an astounding sense of entitlement. They think you work for them. Set 'em straight. Don't be afraid to say "No complaints! No requests! No 'helpful hints'!" 3. Don't bump. Anywhere. A forgotten thread does as much as a lcoked thread, except forgotten threads can always be discovered. 4. Engrish, MF-er. Do. You. Speak. It? You. Must. Speak. It! 5. Patience: You need moar. No exceptions. It r liek dakka! 6. Self-relience. You need to walk on your own. We'll give out the occasional crutch, but very few modders are willing to mod for you. 7. Steal: Not really, but if you want to know how something is done, look at a mod that does it. It can teach you. Here endeth your lesson. Go, grasshopper! Aria C
The wiki is a great place to start but keep in mind that its not allways newbie friendly in terms of how things are explained. So my advice is to certainly use the wiki but get reaquianted with google too. When I decided to learn things myself I searched not just for how to's on modding for oblivion but for any game that I could find. The reason being is that modding for one game is ofent similair to modding for another. Also when searching google you will get more results by using phrases like "3d modeling tutorials" instead of "how to create armor for oblivion" the same goes for scripting, texturing, rigging and anything else you can think of. another tip is dont try to learn it all once, you would simply be overwhelmed with information if you did. Instead focus on maybe just scripting at first and then moving onto something else such as modeling, then texturing ect ect
