Tsukiball
Hey guys, I have recently gotten interested in Fo3 again but this time on the modding side. I have never done a Fo3 mod before and I am interested in working with a partner or mod team to see what I can do. I have various skills in design / writing, modeling, textures, and more. If anyone is interested or knows of a modding team that may need a little help then let me know.
Pronam
Welcome to the nexusfoumrs, Tsukiball. So have you ever modded any other games then?As you're modeling, what program do you use? SFL could always use some help. As will any other project .
Tsukiball
My experience with modding at this point is mostly focused in Unreal 3. Though any game that ships with creations software I have gotten my hands on I've played around with. For modeling purposes I use 3DStudio Max, for textures and such generally Photoshop CS4. Pronam
Well, as every modder. You should check out the modders-wiki here.Modding fallout is mainly done by using the GECK, you might have came across that name in the game. It's the freely distrubited SDK. As you're known with modeling and textures. Here is the .dds plugin, the format used for textures in the game.and here you can learn more about NIF, the format used for models. There are quite a number of articles on theF03nexus and it's worth to check out the stickies in the F3 forums around here. There are so many places with explanations it's not necessary to join up a group, (might speed things up a bit.) as whenever you go stuck with modding you can post here, the official forums or the various other forums that are on the web. There are so many people modding this game, lol, that the questions is not if you'll be able to mod but when you'll be able to mod on your own.
