krimzin
Ok, so I finally finished every game in the Legacy of Kain series. I must say this is sadly a very overlooked game, the story, voice acting, character personalities, it makes final fantasy look like a hack job. I really would like to see a quest put into oblivion for fans of this game. I've come across a few files that would fit in, but this project would still require a lot of dedication. I'd go it alone, but it's too much work for one person alone. So, if there happens to be any LoK fans rooting around the request forums (unlikely), feel free to post some ideas, etc and hopefully this thread will stay alive for more than a week. David Brasher
I guess I am totally ignorant about the Legacy of Kain games. Do they have something to do with Joseph Conrad and the Congo in colonial Africa?
krimzin
Not even close. Legacy of Kain follows the story of a murdered nobleman in the kingdom of Nosgoth who was resurrected by a necromancer as a vampire for a chance at revenge. Nosgoth was held in balance by nine pillars connected to the minds of nine individuals known as the circle, each pillar had its own governing attribute ( i.e. mind, death, balance, etc) But someone had murdered the balance guardian, causing her lover, the mind guardian who had powerful mental abilities to go insane and with his insanity, all other circle members were driven insane causing the pillars to become corrupted. Kain is told by the ghost of the murdered balance guardian that in order to restore the pillars and find the one responsible for his murder, he needed to kill the members of the circle and bring an artifact from them to restore the pillar they represented. He does so and in the process, meets one of the main antagonists, a chronomancer, who at the time was disguised as an Oracle. He warns Kain of a massive army called the Nemesis that will end up conquering Nosgoth, which would interfere with his plans for vengeance. So he discovers a means to travel back in time 50 years, kill the founder of the Nemesis, and when he returns, finds himself to be the last vampire alive, due to his altering of the past. So he kills the chronomancer for deceiving him, and finds that the last member of the circle is in fact the Necromancer that had brought him back to life. The Necromancer had been possessed by a demon from another dimension whose species was kept in exile from Nosgoth by the pillars, and it was he that murdered the balance guardian and Kain in the hopes that the pillars would crumble and his race could invade.Kain kills the Necromancer and learns that in order to restore the pillars, he must sacrifice himself, as he had become the new balance guardian.Kain, being a badass anti-hero, refuses to sacrifice himself as he had realized how godlike his vampirism had made him, and lets Nosgoth fall to ruins and rules over it for hundreds of years, until the sequel where his "son" Raziel, a murdered Sarafan Priest, who's role was to exterminate all vampires, is brought back to life as a vampire by Kain, along with all of Kain's other lieutenants, all of which were Sarafan. Anyways, best way to get the whole story is to either play all the games, which I recommend, or just look it up on wikipedia.

krimzin
I just had the most hilarious vision of a conquered hero screaming in agony from a swarm of little irritating faeries encircling him. A fate worse than death lol
kieranfoy
I read a book where a villain was killed by a horad of five-inch tall faeries... armed with box-cutters. It's not a bad way to kill someone.

Not at all. Faeries are as far from cute and cuddly as you can get, despite what Disney tries to tell otherwise.
kieranfoy
Oh, yeah. Old Celtic fairies had more in common with Cthulhu then they ever did with Tinkerbell.
