Not a Valid File?

Recommended Posts

Today I slapped together a half-elf race using elements from Breton, Wood Elf and Dark Elf races. When I try to enable the ESP, I get the error message:

"This is not a valid Oblivion plugin or master file."

I have successfully made, enabled, and played mods before. The race has all the necessary information assigned. I can't make heads or tails of what the problem might be.

Anyone able to help? Thanks a lot in advance!

I am having the same problem. I have spent the last hour making a simple house mod where there is a door that teleports you to the testinghall, among other things.... But, my point is that i had made two saves of the mod on accident, one was done, the other i hadn't begun making anything... When I try to load my finished mod in the data files window in the launcher, it comes up with that error that the O.P. had....... BUT, it will however load my unfinished save with no complaints. Please help. (By the way i know that this is an outdated post but still........)

EDIT: i have no expansions, with oblivion 1.0.X (<-- i know its outdated but i cant seem to get the patcher to work in windows 7)

Move your oblivion game out of Program Files (x86) and into some other directory ... like c:\games\oblivion. That will make it more likely that your oblivion updater will work, as will the construction set saves. You are currently a victim of your Win7 UAC security.
