Non-human female Alistair romance king question...

I actually noticed that myself. The "straight" characters are both faithless, while both "bi" characters continue to stay strong in their commitments. *shrug* I honestly never really cared that much, since my most played and only finished character was a male human noble, and when he lost everything, he decided that he would hop in bed with any willing partner, plays havoc on romances, but it meant he was no more commited than a cat.

Seems to be an accurate reflection of the real world as such...

He's the son of a female dog..... you are a female Elf.. you gave everything you had.. to fight by his side.. defend his name.. avenge the loss of Duncan.. a man like unto a father to him.. you loved him.. laid with him... allowed him to take pleasure in the warmth of your flesh... gave of your entire heart and soul to him... and in the end... he rips it bloody and still beating from your breast.. crushing you utterly in despair as he spurns you...King... but not your king... you are not a Human.. so goodbye sweet Elf.. if you want .. we can still have a secret affair.. and an illegitimate heir... one who will never see the throne.. that is if you don't mind when he marries some human woman... relegating you to.. late night liason.. when he wants something.. exotic..

I'd be crushed.. heartbroken.. then when I managed to pick my miserable self from the floor tell him what a you know what he is.. and that I never want to see or hear his name again... I'd run .. and never look back... tears streaking my face as I fled..

No Alistair for a poor misused Elf maiden.

Wow. Holy melodrama.

It does kind of suck, eh?

Zevran is a more faithful lover I reckon...

Still, if he never became king...I guess none of this would be an issue, non?

I agree with Stardusk on this one! As I've posted in other threads, one of the aspects of DA that keeps my interest is finding myself in situations where the usual "and everbody lived happily ever after" results not only don't automatically occur, they're not even an option!

(Full disclosure, I'm male but usually have a female PC, mostly for the voice. Same on my GPS.)

Approximately the same situation results if you're involved with Alistair but you convince Anora to marry him, (which I did, since I had NO desire to be queen!)

I will say that I felt about Morrigan like RedVex did about Alistair when, in another playthrough, she told me, "Never come looking for me..." Yes, I know she did give fair warning that things were bound to end badly, I just thought I'd shown her that there could be more to life than power and survival. And that made the last conversation with her ("I just wanted to thank you...") on the way to the tower rooftop all the more poigniant.

Could the devs have added a bit more gentle let-down by Alistair for us non-humans, something along the lines of "I'm sorry, my dear. Ferelden will need time before it can accept such a change, but I promise to work for that day!"? Sure. Maybe he'll have a change of heart in DA2?

As in RL, we can hope!

I play female chars in every game I play cause I just feel really weird playing a guy, I'm a girl... so I play a girl... I don't have wienie envy.. I'm very happy with what I have .. but I will admit.. I have tried playing a guy char and I just can't figure it out.. I get frustrated and quit.. I'm comfortable playing as my own gender....besides... yep we ARE hotter.. LOL.. Zev tho is awfully cute.

It depends on how you play that out. If you manage to get through the ritual crap, and then pester her correctly before choosing your final team, you can get additional comments on those from Mora. To the degree that she actually does regret the way that things turned out if you were romantically involved w/her.

Yup, I've played through the Last Battle several times with various PCs and Party combinations. Can't say I've managed ALL of them, (the total number is *huge*) but enough to get a good feel for the impact various moral/relationship decisions have had. As DarkeWolf indicates, in at least one scenario Morri really does seem to be (briefly) questioning her resolve. Which is what made it all the sadder when I hit the epilogue slide about her. (Yes, even though I knew what was coming!)
