Needing assistance with installing new mods.

Hello Nexus Forums!

 

I finally got my computer built (almost, just need to CNC a new face pannel) and I will be able to start gaming on a PC again. I havn't played Oblivion for ages, literally in years. It wasn't untill recently that I had the idea to start up again and it was because I was talking to a D&D player at work and he mentioned the commonalities between the two; Oblivion is truely an RPG

 

I looked up some of the add-ons/ mods and WOW! The modding community made it a whole different game than before. However, I remember a time when I just had to drag a file into the DATA file, and I could select before entering the game. Now however, there are things like OBMM and other acronyms that I know NOTHING about. What are these new programs, what ones do I need, and where do I get them?

 

I will start with a clean-install of Oblivion and that is as far as I know. I am not stupid, but I dont know if I should get an official update, or get the "Unofficial patch" that can be found here - please let me know.

 

I looked for some guides and couldnt find any. If I missed them, or if anyone knows of any, please point them out here, so I can take a look.
