xXShaddowTXx
Hey everybody (sorry I am starting so many topics trying to get a great gaming experience : ) ) I want to know if anybody can list the two greatest mods one for combat and one for magic. Also if you are willing and can (I thank you if you do) can you give a description and a link Thank you!!! Also if any body can do the same for very immersive mods I would be most pleased thank you again!!! xXShaddowTXx
Tomlong54210
Downloading Mods <-- my mod recs are all listed Explicit preferences: (Magic) Supreme Magicka - balanced, configurable(Combat) Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul <-- This really depends on what you want for combat changes. If you mean just combat itself, the biggest overhauls are Deadly Reflex and Unnecessary Violence, I think. I do not like excessive gore, so I will leave DR alone, and I am less familiar with the other one. If you decide to use DR and SM, do not forget to grab the patch on the DR page (or in the DR thread.)(Immersion) There are lots of recs here, but I would need you to be more specific. There are four guides linked on the page I listed that are relevant to this category, however. Edit: I use SM with LAME, but I let SM "win." Edit: ...forgot some links... xXShaddowTXx
Alright thank you I will look at that link and Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. What I meant was for magic more spells, balance, and better combat I guese you could say... What I meant for Combat was not gore at all I am not a fan of gore (atleast alot of it) in my games especially Oblivion what they did with it was fine what I meant was harder combat and more enemies. Basicalyl I am looking for inhancing difficulty majorly by adding new spells balancing everything out of Player favoure and adding more (and) harder enemies to the game... also for immersion I want harder things and maby cooler sights and just over all immersion to make you feel as if you were there. Thanks again. Any others anybody? Edit: thanks for adding those links : ) lol what do you mean by Win? Edited May 3, 2010 by xXShaddowTXx
Tomlong54210
By "win," I mean override, load later in my LO. Magic: Look at the Magic Overhaul Comparison, linked on the page I linked in my last post. My view of the three major magic overhauls, SM, LAME and Midas Magic (MM) are that the former is the most balanced, LAME is in between the other two in terms of power and content adding, and MMM is at the extreme end of adding new, crazy spells and making magic all powerful. If your primary goal is balance, use SM. If you want some balance, as well as new spells, use LAME. If you want good balance and some new spells, use SM + LAME, with SM loading later. Combat: I think you are looking for more individual mods here. Duke Patrick's mods definitely increase combat difficulty and realism. Strategy Master has also created a number of mods (in addition to SM) that enhanced combat, as well as many other things. Is there anything not among their mods that you are still looking for? Are you looking for visual enhancements as well? Edit: Just so you know, SM's Mounted Combat OBSE mod is buggy. The only mounted combat mod that I know to work is the one integrated in to DR. :( For other little, convenient changes that I think really improve the game: My BAIN Package List. (Check out the "Utility Mods", "Gameplay Changes & Tweaks" and "User Interface Mods" sections.) OOO will add more enemies, but if you want even more new creatures, I suggest upping that to MMM + OOO, for which I have already written a guide. :)
xXShaddowTXx
Wow thank you very much I have to look at all these links and get what you recomended thank you i will respond to these links when I am done. Yes I am looking for a balance between more spells and balance itself so i'll do SM + LAME, with SM loading later thank you. "Are you looking for visual enhancements as well?" yes I am...do you know any? (other than Unique Landscapes because that makes it so no mods that alter landscape work) "OOO will add more enemies, but if you want even more new creatures, I suggest upping that to MMM + OOO," lol sorry for my unknowing of this but what is MMM lol? Thank you again and I will respond to links when done.
Tomlong54210
If you use BOSS, I recommend getting the BOSS Masterlist Manager as well. That way you can easily define an override that moves the SM group above the LAME group; otherwise, you would have to move it by hand after running BOSS. Load Ordering As far as visual enhancements go, my BAIN list is pretty extensive. That is what most of the mods I use are for, outside of FCOM and some quest mods. Check out the "Textures", "City & World Aesthetics", and "Cosmetic Mods" sections (on the page I linked earlier.) A properly organized BAIN package list, sorted by Order (install priority) as mine usually is, is for all practical purposes, the equivalent of a proper install order. Therefore, you could use my list as an explicit installation guideline, but for more general guidelines: Install Guide for Aesthetic Overhauling. (See the links at the bottom for more discussion and information on this topic.) Edit: Oops, I forgot, MMM stands for Martigen's Monster Mod. It used to be a creature diversity mod, for the most part, but now it is blooming into a full overhaul. OOO is an all-inclusive type of overhaul, whereas as MMM is more like Frans, in terms of the breadth of its changes.
xXShaddowTXx
Many thanks. So far I have gotten Lame, Supreem Magicka, Vaults of Cyridill, Enhanced economy, and Banks of Cyridill. I thought Banks and Enhanced Economy would work well together :P And the mods I download are the newest stable versions I always wait (unless beta testing) for the betas to be complete. Also I don't use BOSS the only utilities I have are the newest (non beta versions) OBSE and OBMM. Wuold OBMM work in place of BOSS? thank you again and will replie when (yes I still am) I am done going through those links.
xXShaddowTXx
Also do you recomend COBL? thank you again.
Tomlong54210
OBMM and BOSS are very different utilities. One cannot replace the other. OBMM is a mod management utility, among other things, and BOSS is just an automated load ordering tool (that "just" sorts over 10000 plugins.) I definitely recommend installing COBL. I love that mod, especially the options menu. You can set your timescale through it, denock arrows, a number of mods add their menu activation items to it, and...many mods use COBL for extended functionality, and more integration among mods... Yup, there are many reasons I recommend that mod.
xXShaddowTXx
Ok so I should have COBL, OBMM, and BOSS thank you. I am downloading OOO now (it's a big one) and then will download COBL then BOSS. also for the City & World Aesthetics section the only one I found to be really cool is "Weather - All Natural"it's a pack of three Atmospheric Weather System, Enhanced Weather, and Natural Weather.....do you recomend this one? Also do you think the list I am developing is ok so far (as said) Lame, Supreem Magicka, Vaults of Cyridill, Enhanced economy, and Banks of Cyridill...and then those three ^^^? Thank you again for helping me so much with this and you will most assuredly get kudos when I am done.
