ForlanceAbice
Alright, for whatever reason that is beyond me at the moment, the NVSE prompts a pop up informing me that this version ofthe "file" is not compatible with my version of Windows. (Windows 7. Have attempted to run as both as Administrator and Compatibility Windows XP Service Edition 2 to no avail.)Trying to start New Vegas either from the NVSE or from Nexus results in similar outcomes, that of which is the game is unable to start with these programs. So far it would appear that starting New Vegas by itself seems to show no signs of problems. Otherwise it is a no go.I have followed the instructions on this video here. As instructed by both these two links and the video above. http://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutMods/wiki/indexhttp://nvse.silverlock.org/ Though I will admit some of the wording for the two links above have been somewhat vague. I have seen a Steam thread here http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=166465404 that says you must extract the folder itself to New Vegas in steam common apps. And no, I did not paste those files into the data folder as instructed. Right now I am in a bit of a loss as to what to do, thus I refer to you fellows to help me. Any advice to rectify this problem?
luthienanarion
Whatever that message was, it wasn't from NVSE. Let's see a screenshot of the error.
ForlanceAbice
Update: Alright, I have gotten the vanilla version of the game to start up again with no problems thus far. (Though my saved games at that point have been all lost, a small price to pay.)I have also deleted all the left over tid bits of NVSE and did a complete reinstall with no problems thus far. The issue now is that the game seems to crash on start up if I start the game using NVSE via NMM, which I assume is due to a lack of memory that the game needs to run. Of course that much is all I could gather from various readings over the last few days, with some forum threads suggesting that I download another script that is related to NVSE that gives the game an additional 4 gigs of RAM. (Correct me if I am wrong.) Currently as of now, I wish to install this mod right here, due to its location and ease of organizing item inventory. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37884/? Though I am a bit hesitant to attempt an install of this mod in fear of inducing further crashes in both the NVSE launch option and the vanilla game.I don't suppose this would be a simple matter of following instructions to the letter, correct?
