Dirty mods

Here's a funny thing about FO3. I recently added subway cars that you can walk thru and I used a lot of nif meshes combined them into one. You can tell the subwaycar01.nif is loaded takes a while to load. Okay. And all that extra stuff didn't drop my FPS at all even with 10 train cars in one cell. NADA! But ever 3-5 or so extra fill light and beams of light drops my frame rate by 1.

What's the funny thing? Well that they opted for adding 12 fill lights on one bulb but they made the subway cars completely sealed. In my case. Takes twice as much processing power for those 12 fill lights than i don't know 12 empty train cars.

The things that chunk up your FPS (in order):

1. Special fx/HDR effects/fill lights/beams/etc - delete/disable doubles my fps sometimes

2. NPC/AI/actors - theading reduced ai load..also setting scene to complex also helps

3. scripts that loop forever - plz have condtition for your script to triggler code per condition esp FOSE getfirst ref get next ref should only run once per mod per condition not constantly
4. High resolution textures - for ex FWE sets guns to use 1st ps texture all the time.NO. you don't need 1st ps texture on 3rd person mesh that chunks my frame rate a bit. Use a high rez mod to do that. Thanks but no thanks FWE

But we are here to discuss 1.

Please if you fix lighting use special effects sparingly. Thanks. That's my beefqueef. I consider a mod that is FPS hungry also dirty. Bad modding practice.
