Stuck at 10 years later sequence.

The thing is I have installed FO3 and i wanted to start a new game. Everything is fine but the first problem appears in the birth sequence. The dialogue between dad and that doctor chick is skipped and im asked about my gender right away. Later on in vault there are no sounds except for baby's crying. The dialogye between me and dad is skipped again, then Im just stuck on my birthday party without no dialogue or nothing. I was given pipboy but there is no sound or no dialogues at all. I dont know what to do. My game is fresh i have no mods installed except for unofficial patch because i thought that might actually help unfortunately it didnt.

I have tried using the search fuction but i couldnt find anything useful

Klite audio codec pack would probably fix it, don't listen to meh though.

 

 

Do an advanced search on nexus, pick fallout 3 for the forum then search for radio stutter thread, which covers audio stuff.

 

 

It's a problem related to your computer system. On the recent fresh install of my windows XP OS, an update, as well as adding Norton, I installed fallout 3 on it an didn't need the codec pack. Which sounds about right, why would bethesda ship out a game that you need any other codec than one contained inside the windows OS? Yep they wouldn't, hence you don't need K lite, but on some system builds there are conflicts inside the OS which K lite audio codec pack will fix and allow fallout 3 to work properly. Also K lite is a safe program, an also already has the settings to allow fallout 3 to work by default, no need to muddle around in them, an you can ignore it after that.

 

If yer into building gamer rigs, then you no doubt put time an effort into your system software build as well, which heck I'm no genus when it comes to it, but this last install turned out better because there's no need for a k lite pack, which every other install before needed it, even on the same computer hardware.

 

Hang in there, it takes a while before you can do anything you want with any mod you want. All I can say is start out small an learn FO3 edit. Search web on nexus downloads then read CSB's guide to fixing mods. Read nexus as much as you can, pinned topics, an come get help if you needin it.
