Linking Doors / teleports

Recommended Posts

Hi there fellow modders,

I was wondering if I could get a little advice. Heres my problem...

Upon completing my new mod ( Bruma Hide Away ), I needed to set the teleport for the door from Bruma Exterior to my Hide Away House. I done this same as I have with my other mods ( which I had no problem with ), however, when I connect the two doors, check the mod in the data list and start the game, it crashes to desktop.

I messed about abit and discovered that if I cancel the teleport on the door and check the mod in the data list and start the game, all is well and dandy. As soon as I connect the doors and start the game, it crashes to desktop again.

Any ideas to why this is happening with this mod whereas my other 3 mods had no problems like this ?

Any help and support would be ace.

Many kind words.

I'm not quite sure I understand. Are both the Exterior door and the Hide Away House door yours? Or is the Exterior door a vanilla door (for instance the door to the Bruma House for Sale) that previously went somewhere else?

If the Exterior door is a vanilla door that you are reusing/subverting/whatever, try you mod with the teleport attached and with a player character that has never been through that door at all (with or without your mod). If it works for you then without crashing, then the problem is that door states get saved into your save game once you go through them. Your best bet for fixing it (if that is the case) would be to replace the vanilla Exterior door with one of your own making. Disable and hide the original vanilla door that you are replacing - do not delete it or you will get your crashing problem again.

The doors I use are all originally used in oblivion, however I do make duplicates, rename them and give them new editor id's. I will try your idea, see if that helps. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
