More Immersive Sound

Storms & Sound simply increases storm frequency a lot. It is not a bug. I do not like that either. Have you tried using the "startquest strormmenu" command to reduce the frequency? (See the ReadMe for the correct command name if that is not it.)

Well, I never got Storms and Sounds to work, but I'll keep fussing around with it. But, I do have good news. The repeating thunder sounds was due to the EW+NW+AWS.esp. If I use just NW or EW+NW, all the thunder sounds are used like I thought they would be. I haven't tried EW+AWS or NW+AWS yet, but at least I know all three combined were the cause. And maybe using all three was causing Storms and Sounds to act funky as well. I'll try out different combinations.

I will report that, good to know.

I just tried NW+AWS and that worked properly too.

I'll try out Storms and Sounds now. Hopefully that one esp was the cause of everything.

Storms & Sound only allows you to set the frequency of thunderstorms during rain. That is, when the weather is raining anyway, S&S will let you determine how much chance there is of getting thunder and lightning along with the rain. There is no way to reduce the frequency of rainy weather to begin with, at least not using S&S. And my problem isn't that I'm getting too many storms, it's that I'm getting too much rain.

I really do think it's either coincidence or possibly that it rains more often during certain seasons of the year. It would make sense because in the vanilla game days fly by at 30x speed and therefore months and seasons pass quickly too, whereas in my modded game a Tamrielic day lasts several RL hours (or about one play-session for me) which means that it's been Frostfall in my game for two or three RL weeks now. And if it rains more than usual during this season, that'd be why it feels to me like it's always raining. I'm not truly worried about it; if I were I'd be more proactive in tracking down the source of all my rainclouds. I just recall thinking to myself a few times lately while playing that it seems to be raining an awful lot, so when I saw this thread mentioning never-ending storms, I wanted to confirm that the cause of that particular issue is a mod I'm not running and therefore it isn't the source of all my rain.

Carry on!

It has been a while since I checked that setting (and played the game.) I will keep that in mind. Maybe you should try AN or AWS. My timescale is set to 10...

Well, for some reason, now Storms and Sound doesn't work no matter what version I use, and whether or not I use a clean save. Strange. Random. Probably user error somewhere in there.

I'm calling success enough on this. I found out what was causing the repeating thunder sounds, and that's good enough for now. Though I do hope that I can, one day, use both mods.

I will let you know if the status on this issue changes as well.

Happy gaming!

LOL, I'm going insane. Just for the heck of it, I tried EW+NW+AWS again, and the repeating thunder sounds stopped and are working properly. So, I'm back to square 1. I have no idea why the sounds were repeating themselves, and I don't know why they aren't now.

AHHH!

Maybe you just needed to do a clean save or something. Arthmoor said that he did not think that using the different optional plugins should make a difference either, so at least the reports are consistent...
