blackrogue24
* give the player the ability to establish a NEW Mages Guild once he/she achieves the rank of Arch-Mage. Better yet, give the player the option of having the NEW Mages Guild build a NEW town which they can govern. The player would have several possible locations to choose from for the new Mages Guild and the town the guild will govern. Each of the various locations would have either their own perks or drawbacks.
Malchik
Whilst it's always a problem that once you reach the top there are no quests to do (only the Morag Tong in MW had extra quests) the game is really about questing rather than running a city. Oblivion couldn't solve the problem. Head of DB and you are back to errand running for 200 gold a week, head of TG and you have a new guild hall of no purpose whatsoever, head of FG and you collect a stipend for doing nothing etc. I'm not rubbishing your suggestion blackrogue as I see why you feel the need for more but I feel what is really needed is earlier on. By all means develop a series of quests designed to found a new city of mages (in secret as the Arch-Mage does not know who else he can trust). But if you wait until you are arch-mage you can't realistically be expected to undertake the quests. Anyway that is my view. As for sites, there are these irritating Oblivion gates that open up in several places and you'd need to make sure one wasn't in the middle of your bedroom. (You'd get more than your fingers burned.) You could perhaps have quests associated with the reconstruction of Kvatch? Oddly it never had a mages guild. So there would be rebuilding the city, establishing a new guild etc. etc. So - get modding!
Myydraal
I believe there is quite a large team of people trying to do a rebuild Kvatch quest line and Rebuilding it as well. Not sure where the link was to there website, hmm let me look around some. As for the oblivion agtes opening up they are randomish...but they accually are all placed in the world so that wont be a problem, hehe.
blackrogue24
Thanks for the input, Malchik. You do make a good point about the Arch-Mage thing. Arch-Mages typically do not undertake quests; those are left for the underdogs. I felt that only Arch-Mages have the authority to set up a new Mages Guild unless he or she gives that authority to someone else. On a further note, I have no modding experience whatsoever. The only toolset i've used is the Aurora Toolset for Neverwinter Nights. What's wrong with having an oblivion gate open up in the bedroom? It seems to me that scenario could be one of the drawbacks of choosing a location. I'm curious about one thing though. How do you know that Kvatch never had a Mages Guild? I can't tell just by looking at the ruins. Does the lore of the Elder scroll games indicate that Kvatch never had a Mages Guild?
Malchik
The Mages Guild Charter I believe has a list and references are made to needing recommendations from the seven guild halls before the fate of Kvatch is known.

Thanks for the 411. I'm not in the habit of reading the books I find all over Tamriel...word for word that is. A thought just occured to me. Is it possible to create a plug-in in which all the player's adventures are recorded in a book that can be bought at book stores throughout all of Tamriel or newpapers that mention your adventures to all the wonderful NPCs who read them? Man this reminds me of what Fallout did at its ending. They had liek short Slide showish sceens with audio files attached telling the player what happned to all the diffrent factions and people you interacted with. Lol one of them is that the kid of this girl you can knock up like unites this city and stuff. Man Fallout 2 Rocked sooooo much. Oh and it is possible, i THINK.
