Custom Weapon Crashing GECK

Hey guys, so I've spent easily over 100 hours now working on my first ever model. It's a custom Pulse Rifle based off the move Aliens and I got it pretty much as good as it's going to get. I followed Millenia's tutorial on copying the model on to a default nif file and all that. Now the problem, when I go to load the model in GECK it crashes. I noticed in the nif that it says my model has almost 30k triangles in just the frame alone (however in blender my total triangle count after converting all the meshes to triangles is only around 12k). So I am stumped. Somehow between Blender and nifskope my tri count almost triples and then GECK crashes when loading my model. Is the Tri count the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hate to just give up on it seeing how long I have worked on it.
