stevesharp96
Hi, I'm a noob at PC gaming and was never so bright when it came to computers. I just really wanna play oblivion with mods but I cant for the life of me figure it out. I followed instructions from the website and other sources yet I cant comprehend any of it. I downloaded an app to help with compressed files and all but still dont know what to do. Does anyone have a dumbed down tutorial on how to do this stuff? I would GREATLY appreciate it. Xanlosh
Hello StevesharpI would recommand A modmanager for beginners. Here i list a few:ObmmNMM(very easy but not the most advanced features)Mod Organizer(very advanced modmanager with many features and extremly usefull if you use many mods)Wrye Bash(good Modmanager if you know how to use it)You should use loot to sort your Loadorderhttp://loot.github.io/(if not you will break the game very soon)TES4(if you broke your game)Gopher made some very good tutorials about modding for skyrim but its pracicly the same for Oblivion. bben46
I actually recommend not using NMM for Oblivion - as most Oblivion mods were made long before NMM - or any other mod manager existed. I have had the best luck using OBMM. But even then some mods will need to be installed manually - which means actually reading the read me and following the author's instructions. Wrye Bash is intended for more experienced mod users who have some computer experience. More advice DO NOT install a bunch of mods and just expect it to work - It won't. install them one at a time and TEST before loading another one - or pay the price by uninstalling everything reinstalling the game and starting over. READ the readme for every mod - not all mods install the same - and if you don't read the instructions - SOL. Not all mods will be compatible with some of the other mods you have - be prepared to drop a mod in favor of another one. Using mod is not like playing games on your xbox - you will actually have to learn a little about computer file structure and where windows likes to hide things from users. Millions of others have managed to learn - you will too. No matter which method you decide to use to install mods Get LOOT to help you set the load order. http://loot.github.io/
