Minor issue that's causing me BIG problems... Can someone help?

Greetings. After a recent round of mod updates, I'm getting frequent crashes. I'm really stuck here and could use a hand! :thumbsup:

 

I think these crashes may be related to my COBL installation. (Everything else seemed completely straightforward.)

After reading through the COBL and Bashed docs multiple times and doing numerous searches, etc... Can someone show me the light?

 

While rebuilding Bashed Patch, the latest COBL Item Interchange (II) instructions (from 172) indicate to do the following:

1) Merge Patches: all II esps should be merged.

2) Import Inventory: all installed II placement plugins should be selected.

3) Leveled Lists: automatic for all II placement plugins.

 

Question is regarding #2. So In the Update Bashed Patch dialog, I found and checked "Import Inventory", and then also checked "Item interchange - Placement for FCOM", like this:

Then I got to thinking, if I've checked this one item, will this cause unwanted disruptions with the other items in the "Import Inventory" area... Should I be checking the others as well, like this?

And then I thought maybe, since FCOM is using COBL as a resource, maybe I should not be checking "Import Inventory" at all (or any of its subcomponents), as there was no mention of this in the FCOM instructions...

Now I am all confused. :confused:

 

So, does anyone know which way it should be?

 

(btw - I am using Wrye Bash 275, COBL 172, an FCOM setup, and BOSS to determine load order.)

Any help is greatly appreciated. Can't wait to get back ingame and go exploring (newly-added) Elsweyr and beyond! :smile:

Upgrade to Wrye Bash 283. You should have everything checked in the sections for which they show up with few exceptions.

OK, I will rebuild bashed patch with (almost) everything checked, per specification on that link.

You should deactivate all green-text, italicized-text and purple-text plugins (also mentioned on the above-linked page.)

I checked and I have the following:

  • No italicized plugins
  • 1 purple-text plugin ("TamrielTravellersItemsNPC.esp", now deactivated)
  • 42 green-text plugins.

About those green-text plugins... I gather that green means "mergable", but after reading that last link thoroughly, all it says is to deactivate the green-text plugins. It says nothing about then merging them in (by placing them in the "+" state). I am fairly sure I need these plugins. Shouldn't I at least be "merging" them?

 

Also, as long as I'm under that 200+ limit (which I am at 194), do I really need to even merge these green plugins? Can't I just leave them activated?

 

Post your load order, with Wrye Bash, please. Your problem might not just be related to the bashed patch.

Also, before I rebuild my bashed patch with all those new patch options selected (per FCOM Bashed Patch), should I go to the Test Hall and wait for 4 days? Curious if anyone knows exactly when it's important to do that?

The instructions to merge are followed by checking those plugins under the Merge section of the bashed patch. Deactivate them. Merged plugins do not need to be active while the bashed patch is rebuilt. You do not have to do the testing hall bit, but that might be helpful. Also, make sure to right-click on your save file and choose "update NPC levels".

TIE In is not really compatible with FCOM. Corepc is currently working on a version of TIE4MODs that is, however. Plus, MMM has been updated multiple times since TIE In was last updated.

 

The latest FCOM setup is OOO 1.34 + MMM 3.7b3 + UFCOM. Hopefully that setup works, but I do not know if OOO 1.34 fits into that version.

 

Edit: Replace CleanQuit with FastExit version 2.
