watdocdude
So along with my new computer comes a new OS. Which is Windows 7 x64. I've run into quite a few things that don't work with it anymore, but I've been able to put up with. Now however I just purchased a copy of the original Far Cry. No matter what I do I can't get it to install. I try to install, however it comes up with a message saying to run the 64 bit.exe , however there isn't one on the disk, and I can't install the 64 bit patch if the game isn't installed. Any suggestions?
Thor.
Far Cry2 works great on windows 7. No problems here   Running windows 7 64bit pro.. If its home, you might need to download the windows 7 xp mode. Many games require it, but Far Cry 2 doesn't. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

CommanderCrazy
It's the original Far Cry, not Far Cry 2 that he's talking about.

watdocdude
Does anybody have any suggestions? The box just sitting on the desk is starting to get to me. I'd like to get this to work. Is there a way to somehow install the patch without the game installed or something?
Thor.
I think this might help you out, its a copy protection problem, punkbuster. This might resolve that issue. http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/4022-w7-64bit-original-farcry.html Note issues with the real retail version on cd. update to the latest patch.
