jtucker40
http://i.imgur.com/2z7s7IP.png Update. Not sure what the blue things are, since they aren't on the textures, so they must be a shader problem. If anyone knows how to fix it I would love to hear it. Snowman1944
Looks like just a shader bug in max to me. As long as it doesn't show up in game then it should be fine so I wouldn't worry about atm.Coming along great! Edited August 18, 2014 by Snowman1944

Also, I'm having some major issues with the normal maps. I outlined the details in imgur album, and nothing I have tried has been able to fix it. There's nothing that I could find on the internet that seems like it could fix it, but maybe I'm just being stupid and overlooking something. Here's a screen of what happens when I apply a normal map that I modified. http://i.imgur.com/5FqCApv.png Edited August 18, 2014 by jtucker40
Snowman1944
Hmm. It also looks like it might be a problem with 3ds. How does it look when not in 3ds, like in nifskope or in game? Is the problem persistent?Unfortunately, I have zero experience when 3ds (I'm stuck with blender) and am fairly new to modeling, so this one might be out of my range. Hopefully it's just another issue with shaders or something.
jtucker40
I figured out the normal map problem, it was an issue with my exporting settings. Now I'm having another issue, I made a forum post about it but in NifSkope my textures are all messed up: http://i.imgur.com/yMMRIYa.png Anyone know what this problem could be? Snowman1944
You probably already did this, but just in case, did you change the textures to your own in nifskope? Otherwise it will default to the original models textures (provided you are overwriting a default weapon). If you did that, then I'm not sure. I have yet to play around much with nifskope. jtucker40
Yep, i applied my own textures to the model in nifskope and it's still all messed up. I'm using the lightmachine gun model as my base model so maybe it has something to do with left over UV stuff from that?
jtucker40
New development: It was an issue with how I was exporting my dds files, I had to make sure they generated their own mipmaps, now it works much better. The only issue now is that some of the textures are warped: http://i.imgur.com/2Aq96ni.png
jtucker40
Anybody? I haven't been able to find a solution anywhere on the internet. These distortions show up in-game so I want to have these issues fixed before I release the mod.
