GooeyGungan
I uninstalled RAEVWD and ran TES4LODGen again, and now my FPS is much better. However, now whenever I look at a city from a medium-ish distance (about the distance from Frostcrag to Bruma), it turns yellow when I put my cursor over it. What might be causing this problem? Tomlong54210
I think that that is a bad Far NIF. I am still not completely sure about that issue, but if you have been using OBMM, you probably need to reinstall other mods that installed LOD files. It does not swap the version back from other files that had overlapping files that were installed before. Reinstall any mods you think may have installed those types of files (i.e., BC, ULs, etc.)
Ripacea
Hey everyone,Today, all of a sudden, I started getting a massive FPS drop whenever I look towards the Imperial City. I'll be at 60 FPS (capped b/c of Vsync) and then I look towards the IC, and it'll drop to 10 or 11. This is with Streamline dropping all the settings to minimum. Now, I have only looked at it from one side (over by Frostcrag and Bruma), but this still doesn't seem reasonable. I did run TES4LODGen for the first time today, so could that be it? Also, I have Frostcrag Reborn, but when this happens, I'm not looking at Frostcrag. I'm happy to provide my list of esp's I have active, but it's really long, so I'm not going to put it in this first post. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! System specs:Intel core i7 9206GB DDR3 RAMRadeon HD 5870ASUS P6T MotherboardWindows 7 64 bit Edit: forgot to put OS I am having the same problem. I've tried everything that was said here, also tried to modify the oblivion.ini and got no improvement. I was with all the graphics options with a maximum average rate of 45 FPS outdoors. After running TES4LODgen my FPS dropped from 45 to 10-20. Does anyone have an idea of what can be!? Because I read in several places and all saying that the drop TES4LODgen not so much the FPS. Thanks to anyone who can help! Ripa PS: Sorry for writing but I do not speak English very well.
chaospearl
Well, I reinstalled Really AEVWD, and that brought the FPS up to about 20, which is good enough for me. I think the amount of far away objects was just too much. Perhaps the ones generated by TES4LODGen are too detailed? Heh, 20 is a gift from the gods for my game. I have almost the exact same system you do - same i7, same Radeon. More RAM but that's about it. RAEVWD drops my FPS like you wouldn't believe... I go from 60+ to about 10 near cities. I think my load order is actually a wee bit worse than yours... I'm not running FCOM, but I have bunches more quest mods and a whole slew of additional towns and villages, not to mention a few "crowded whatever" mods that add NPCs. Anyway, from what I can tell it's pretty normal for RAEVWD to choke your FPS. We've both got machines that should be able to grab most current games by the throat and wrestle them to the ground, but Oblivion works against us because it's older. It isn't designed to take advantage of fabulous system specs, so beefing up your computer only helps to an extent. Now, I used to play Oblivion on a laptop and it struggled along at 10 - 15 FPS (and that was without Better Cities and Unique Landscapes) so I'm used to that and it doesn't aggravate me too much. I admit I was hoping for a faster game on my new machine, but it does let me use BC and UL with RAEVWD and my FPS is still playable, so that's good enough for me. I know full well I could be playing at 60+ all the time if I'd just get rid of RAEVWD and maybe BC, but I love them both too much to compromise. The moment I stepped onto the Talos bridge and saw the lights of Verona Bay in the distance, I was sold. I enjoy my modded game at slow FPS more than I would a BC-less game at ridiculous speeds. My choice. My FPS averages around 35 in the outside world (if I'm in the desolate wilderness it's much higher, but I have so many location mods installed that there are very few places left on my map that aren't full of FPS-sucking crap) and jumps to 70+ for interiors, but drops to the 15 - 25 range inside most cities and the 8 - 12 range in the Imperial City. I'd say the absolute worst place for me FPS-wise is either the Market District or the Talos Bridge. The MD... well, that's probably everybody's worst FPS place, no contest. The bridge is because it's right between the IC and AFK_Weye which are both NPC-laden processor sucking hellholes of FPS, plus the height that means you can see, well, almost everything visible when distant... Anyway. You're running RAEVWD's Cities and Imperial City, which you shouldn't do in combo with Better Cities -- they provide their own LOD. Doing that actually crashed my game a bunch when I was first setting it up. And I also see MMM Vindasel in there, which to my knowledge is outdated... the latest version of that plugin is called Safer Quest Locations. Then again, I also thought the last time MMM came with the Vindasel esp was back in v3.5 and yours clearly says 3.7 so perhaps I'm wrong. Somebody will come along and tell me if I am, I'm sure. Check your MMM install, though, my gut tells me you're using an outdated version. The latest one (I think) is 3.73b and it should not include a Vindasel esp. Also, question for Tomlong... why did you say to ditch diverse grasses? I use that too and love it. Is there some known bug I'm not aware of?
