darooz
qarls textures have the resolution 1024x1024 and a few 2048x2048im making all textures 2048x2048well some textures will remain untouched from qarls texture packbut most of them will be replaced with higher res ones and better looking ones.i dont know how to work with meshes so ill leave those alone.i will release my texture pack as parts. for example "landscape retexture" etc i began to retexture in 4096x4096 but oblivion becomes unstable when using textures of that resolution

thePhilanthropy
very nice worK! however I would urge you to pay extra attention to the mipmaps. Try to make them look as good as possible. Most of the time you will only see the mipmaps of this kind of texture (landscapes and stuff like that). It doesn't matter how good the original texture looks if the mipmaps are a blurry mess.just my 2 cents. Keep it up!

darooz
hmm when i change the wall textures AND make a new normal map file "example wall_n.dds" the textures start to reflect light like smooth plastic but if i dont change the former normal map. they doesnt reflect light. so i wonder what the heck is the problem?ground textures with new normal maps seems to be ok mostly i use crazybump to make normal maps whats the point in retexturing if everything looks like plastic?any ideas? anyone? darooz
i will retexture everything and worry about normal maps laterand im starting to retexture the vanilla textures instead because i think qarl sometimes used a total different texture to replace the vanilla ones withfor example the cobble stones (01) in leyawiin does not contain dirt nor grass where qarls do but qarls(02) cobblestones which in vanilla contains grass is accurateand about qarls roadstones (who would build a road with enormous round stones?)and some textures he just uses for example a stone texture as overlay on the vanilla ones instead of replacing them, thats just being lazy
darooz
much more fun retexturing with some glasses of whine :Dim now retexturing the basement section anyways. ive done the mayority of the game this far now i have to compare my textures with the vanilla ones, because i want my textures to be a superb upgrade from the vanilla ones to keep the original feeling instead of a upgrade from qarls. because i think that he has alot of bad choices of textures when he retextured.5as one of the diagnosis aspergers syndrome i can promise you that i WONT release something im not 100% satisfied with and i really dont have anything to do during the days. so this and retexturing far cry is all i do all daysdo you like far cry? me and garcy will release a new FCAM mod soon
