Bolgo The Madd
Hi. This is going to be a frenzy, I hope.I'm interested in your guys thoughts of value (in gold) of standard items. I want to get rid of stuff being worth 0 gold,so I want to rebalance the econemy. I'm already grilling myself on doing all the leveled lists for armor and weapons, and I figure "why not do the clutter too?" Please make your lists and reply! I'm also considering changing the string name of gold in the inventory to "money", and adding silver coins.Silver is worth .10 of a gold. But that is still a dream in my mind.GOLD VALUES however is do-able right now. So, if your tired of brooms being worthless, please send me your list. Thanks glut glutBolgo The Madd
ATHORIEL
Bless your little cotton socks Blogo! One of the things that has driven me slight insane is the lackadaial way Bethesda has thrown this game together and the little or no thought to the economics is one of the bloody things that has annoy me! You have a challenge though as the base unit is gold, your silver idea would be great! eg. a piece of paper 1 silver - apple 3 silver- ceramic plate 9 silver- broom 1 gold - tongs 10 gold- leather shield 50 gold etc. Trying to equate these items to real world values would be an idea, keeping in mind the lack of magic staffs and glass armour in London, but say an Bow cost about the same as a shotgun. In morrowind if you got a set of glass amour it was a great thing to have as it gave great protection and cost a arm and a leg..in Oblivion it is so so and nothing really special, I think it has to do with relative values...sorry if I am rambling but I think you are on something worth while.
mezlo
I've already posted this in a different topic, but "killaer12345" has already made a mod which adds value to the various clutter items. I personally haven't used the mod so I don't know how extensive it is, but at the minimum it might provide a starting list for you. Merchants Buy Your Clutter Mez PS - I really like the idea of adding silver. That would definitely add a bit more realism.
