Yeah, I've finished a total of four times out of well over 30 starts. Either I don't like the looks and/or the way the character's personality is going or I'll download something that makes me want to start over so I can use it.

Nice to know I am not alone...I am about to do it again...oh well.

I have to follow through this time.

I want to make the following:

1. good inclined human female noble/ 2h warrior

2. evil inclined human male noble/ dual wield warrior

They should be mirror opposites of each other...one marries Alistair, the other Anora...etc...

3. Well... Good luck with that... :whistling:

But that's just me, I never could pull off evil

I already changed my mind, hehe. Made the human male noble 2h...

and still haven't started the human female...maybe I should go with a rogue? I don't know...or a shield warrior...ugh...

Well, evil, not really evil; I mean you are still a grey warden but different choices like killing Connor, killing the wounded soldier in the beginning...etc....

I've tried playing the resentful, angst-ridden, "evil" character with my elf, and end up not being able to do it. I always fall back into my own moral patterns.

As for the skillsets on your characters, you can always respec the character, if you're not happy with, or change your mind about their skills. Theres bunches of mods that allow you to respect, or add new skillsets to your toons.

if its just a matter of the appearance of your character, thats fairly easy to change, as well. Tho it DOES require using the toolset. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=449

Meh, I have HUGE amounts of savegames on my characters. I make a new save when I enter into a new area, right before a major decision, before some of the really big fights, pretty much any event that I might want to play over.

Well, I have advanced both my characters to Ostagar...and have gone a slightly different route...

Still an evil human noble male (with barbarian tattoo and nice ugly face for effect)...

And a dwarf female rogue noble...who didn't kill her brother. I wanted a specific look for her, specificly I wanted to dual wield the skull crusher...and she looks cute with it...(thanks to Noob766, maye he rest in peace, his loss is a great one here)...

I have never done the ultimate sacrifice so I think I will save just before the final battle and refuse Morrigan...anyway. Looks to be quite good so far. To be honest I am kind of excited about the Darkspawn Chronicles...and that sword...it sounds very cool and you can bet they will give a cool, unique appearance...I am rambling.

I think evil is the wrong word. More, selfish and pragmatic...there isn't any real evil you can commit in the game, it is always grey but some choices seem more cruel than others...anyway.

Ahhh, Ok. I can sum that one up in one word. "Morrigan". Hahahaha

I like how you are taking appearance into the "personality" of your character. Thats really cool.

I have to admit I have only played through one entire time because of this...and feel a bit guilty.

Does anyone else do this?

All the time! I have close to 200 characters I've made but have finished the game 10 times (maybe a little more when mod testing) and once for Awakening. I stop and start for many reasons.

1. Mostly mod related, I might be playing with a new mod and have it bork the game so that's a restart.

2. I might make up a character and not like the way their hair is looking for screenshots or videos so that is another new start although there is a way to change the heads of characters you don't like how they look in game, thus NOT having to keep starting over--too bad I didn't know that until about the 78th character.

3. I'll often make a character then need to clear out room from my hard drive to make more space so if it's not played that much, it gets moved to the external. That happens a lot because I have a small hard drive and my movies take up a tremendous amount of room. So, if a character has sat for several days or weeks even, it gets moved out of the game.

4. New hairstyles are added or I might try a new head morph or I'll get an idea of an interesting look I might want to try like the Geisha so I'll make a new character instead of putting the new head on an existing one.

What does it take for me to finish a game with one character? I really have to be in love with them. I need to be so totally absorbed in what he's doing or how he's acting and how he looks in screens and videos to actually finish a game with him and I've had around 8. I did finish the game with 2 female nobles to marry Alistair in the very beginning but now with the mods out that anyone can marry him and what not, I rarely play females for very long, they are usually the first ones to get moved to the external hard drive. I just happen to think I make pretty ones and I like to look at them for a little while but they bore me quickly as I would rather be playing my guys.

As far as morals go, I always play the good guy in Dragon Age. Now Fallout, that's another game, another story, but Alistair is my knight in shining armor so I do play to please him. ;)

yeah that's extremely weird, who the heck starts over in the middle of the game......that is just

i have started over so many times it might even be considered illegal to go through that many (1/4 or 1/2, even 3/4)play throughs with a single retail copy hahahah (<---kinda disturbing actually)

sometimes it's because i notice something on the PC's face i don't like, such as nostril at a certain angle in a conversation..or cheeks being too sucked in.. sometimes it's because i want to go through different stages of the game with different genders or "alignments", sometimes it's because of - sometimes being because of something else

hahah :[

the worst part about it all is that each and every time.....i obsessively try to get every codec, every quest - Everything - for Nothing!! its terrible, i've completed the game a single time since the day i've bought it, and every day i wonder about certain decisions and endings, yet i can never seem to get there, i have yet to try the dwarven backround or the dalish elf origins - yet i have no real desire or curiosity to find out, i will before the sequel maybe heh, human noble/magi or female city elf is the routine i stick to for some reason

so the answer is Yes, stopped deleted, started fresh very very many times...

i am ashamed
