theothersider Posted August 17, 2014 Share Posted August 17, 2014 Hello, I have been having an issue with the daedra quest lines . Any time I try to interact with any item that makes direct contact with a daedric prince . Example , talking to the wispering door or fallowing the dog to clavicus viles shrine and talking to him. Instant CTD ..... I have used Loot to fix my load order and thus far it has come up clean no conflicts . I have googled this problem front and back and only found one obscure post that the un-offical patches break the daedra quest lines . But apon uninstalling them ..... CTD at the same spots I have even tried a clean install. I am pretty sure it is not a conflict or a problem with my mods . It only seems to be these Quests that are affected by this bug or glitch. midsidion Posted August 17, 2014 Share Posted August 17, 2014 well unfortunately I've had problems like this before not only in skyrim but long before skyrim back in my morrowind days and found out the hard way that just because these nice little user apps to help with modding say they have fixed how things should be or don't detect any problems does mean that they are 100% correct. Always ended up either doing the good old turn all mods off and see if game still ctd, if it did then clean install, if not then turn 1 mod on a time till it did ctd, or if I didn't want to mess with that I just flat out did a clean install and slowly reinstalled mods checking for the CTD along the way. Recently had on pop up where each time I caught a bug of any sort boom game blew up which was fun. When you start stacking mods the oddest of things can occur that no Boss/Loot, or wyrebash patch will see sometimes. In my recent ctd case loot said everything was fine, which in loot's eyes it was, but it was a mod conflict in the end, turned them all off and found the culprit. theothersider Posted August 25, 2014 Author Share Posted August 25, 2014 Hm. I have tried both of your suggestions ( thank you both for the suggestions btw ) niether worked . I saved my old game and started a new one mod free. My old game was to heavily modded , with some script heavy mods to just go turning all my mods off. I planed to go back after I found the offending mod..... cept even with a un-modded skyrim and clean install I can not get past helgen . After alduin attacks helgen, there is a moment a bit later where he jumps on a building. As soon as he makes contact with said building CDT. I could easily by pass the quests. I mean via modding I have weapons and gear that would make any daedric prince envious. But this issue is taunting me . I enjoy the quests and find thm to be some of the more interesting ones in skyrim and I'm also the sort of girl that gets irritated when I can't solve an issue. specially when they are in my quest log laughing and me :mellow: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
