Good Mods

I've found a mod or two that change the leveled creature lists, and I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on which ones to use, or not to. As it is, I'm having to constantly watch which skills I use and train to make sure my character doesn't fall behind on combat ability and get severly crippled. I'm tired of it, and I've only gone a few levels.

Or, is there a mod that'll give me a punching bag to beat on as I'm having the most difficulty trying to train weapon skills before my armor skill levels me.

All of the fighter guilds and the arena bloodworks have practice areas which will increase your offensive skills. Also, there are several mods which add manors with training rooms. My personal favorite is Kumiko Manor.

I've sat and beat on one of those practice targets for quite a while and did not get a skill increase, nor any progress towards one. You sure that it will increase my skill?

I guess I just assumed they would. I've never actually spent any time with them. However, the mod I mentioned will definitely help you train your weapon skills. To avoid increasing armor as well, remove all of your armor before entering the training room. The combatants will disappear if your health gets too low so there's no fear of dying.

Sorry for the misinformation.

Only problem with that building mod is that I can't afford the steep pricetag on it yet, I'm still very low level.

Out of curiosity, how hard would it be to make/find a mod that makes those dummies useful?

I was working on it earlier, but got side tracked....Its....intresting, not sure how to do it without the dummy trying to attack you...... either getting skeleton .nif file with no animation, or somethin, might work...idk anyways

I've just started playing with the construction set and it can be a pain to use.

Anyway, I'm trying to make a creature, and what exactly is a NIF file and where could I find one?

Edit: I've tinkered with the npc settings and I have gotten a npc that will not move or fight back. It's sort of dodgy though as it will try to take a swing at you if you lead off with a power attack but is inert other than that. Still need to figure out how to make it look like a dummy, right now it looks like a Breton.
