SpellAndShield
Warrior Reaver: only frightening appearance is any good as it allows you to pound away at a frightened enemy, good against pesky mages. Devour, well first there have to a bunch of corpses. Aura of Pain; terrible trade off; you get nailed for some 20 or so health damage and you do maybe 5 against enemies. The last one...eh, yeah, I guess it's ok...does it make a difference in battle?, not really. Champion...not a single useful skill in this specialisation...can someone tell me one? Seriously, what's the point? Templar...kind of useless...holy smite is good but everything else is not that great....you never end up draining enough mana to prevent spellcasters from casting spells. Well, I guess it looks cool...as an effect. The other stuff...Templars are definitely the least useless useless warrior class... Maybe someone could make some of these useful...especially the reaver. Very cool concept but...terribly executed.
Rusery
I agree with you in part for sure the abilities the templar, reaver, champion and berzerker are pretty under thought. Berzerk for instance is my pet peve the ability should be able to last longer than one battle and not have a cool down of like 30 seconds per cast ( i hate when i miss cast it) the final blow is useless as well because i would much rather use my stamina for other skills. The same goes for most of the other specializations but i believe Bioware intended to give options and not really extra power. Instead of being "the warrior" you now are a berzerking warrior, a frightening warrior, a leader, or a mage killer. I trust modders to do the skill rebalancing as you can see with arcane warrior and such.

Champion on the other hand...ugh.
SaturnC
My blood mages use Devour, I have it set up in their tactics, it's kind of fun. I don't care for many of the warrior specializations either except the Templar abilities. All my mages use Holy Smite (it's good while Blood Wound cools down) BUT I have to watch out when Alistair uses Cleanse Area as it will remove my activated Blood Wound. I do have him use Cleanse Area if I am paralyzed or in Crushing Prison as it is a good dispel ability. I rely on Alistair's Templar talents because I never use Morrigan, only for the first quest, the Nature of the Beast, then she's retired. I do give Sten Berserker and Champion and I give Alistiar Champion but I agree that Champion is a weak specialization, as is most of them. Oghren just stays with Berserker. I don't want their tactics clogged up with too many talents when I use the tactics presets. I know it's not a specialization but since Awakening, all my mages use Massacre also. That is a great talent to use against skeletons and all my mages use it on my command.

All I know is that Wynne with a spellpower of 200+ gets pawned by a genlock...all she does is stay in the background healing...Sten, Alistair and my dwarf dw rogue handle enemies...it's tempting to use a decent shapeshifter mod in light of this...at least a mage could do SOMETHING... Chaosblade02
The warrior specs are OK, nothing overpowering like the Mage specs, but most of them are effective for certain things. Templar, I only get that spec on a tank just to use the Knight commander armor for the 40% spell resist, the templar skills are kinda junk. Berserker, and Champion have some good skills in the lineup. I am not a big fan of Reaver, I just never pick it on any warrior.
wiegraf37
I also use the All Spell Can Learn mod so I can give my Qunari warrior all kinds of abilities. I understand that it does make things a little unbalanced, so I offset that by doing a solo playthrough right now. The only other character I allow myself to use is my dog. It makes the game so much more challenging. My favorite specialization for him is definitely Champion. War Cry is a must have. Once you get Superiority it knocks enemies back and gives them a penalty to attack. Thats useful when youve got enemies all around you. Rally is nice, since if you have motivation, it gives everyone around you a +10 bonus to attack and defense. If you couple that with Miasma, which gives every enemy around you a -10 debuff to attack and defense, its awesome.
roninsoul7
I have to say, my favourite warrior is my 2 handed templar/champion, I can wade through mages and kill them with area shouts, make my party better with one rally, and keep standing when most things attack me. When I tried the same with my dual weapon warrior, getting knocked off my feet all the time made most of the buff skills useless, so I guess it's all a matter of gameplay and style. Find what works for you, follow it through.
