Need some mod reccomendations

Crashing has gotten more frequent.. I keep trying to walk north to Bravil and it crashes every time. :(

 

I looked in Wrye Bash and found something.

Note the highlighted one. That one is green.. which I'm assuming means all my mods are working fine with that save. Every subsequent save goes downhill though. I don't know what purple means but red definitely seems bad. I need to find a small closet that isn't part of any mod so I can load and unload mods safely without messing up my savegame.

So far.. it's working OK. Just a couple issues:

 

1) I understand the concept of the occasional "Boss" enemy that takes a while to kill, but I've had several times where there would be 2-3 guys at a time that would take 5+ minutes of running backwards and shooting arrows into them before they would flinch. All these in a dungeon filled with guys that died in a few hits (difficulty seemed normal). I had to abandon the dungeon. I'm not looking for a change here, I'll deal with them. It just seems strange.

 

2) I installed the "Better Cities" mod.. and now the imperial city drops me down to about 20fps. I have a decent computer.. i7 2.65ghz, geforce 285, 6gb ram.. I expect to be able to run many things at max settings. However, I had to drop it down to almost nothing to get my FPS normal. I don't know if it's just Better Cities or some conflict with a mod, but I will have to remove Better Cities.

 

3) Random crashes. Just walking around, nothing in particular, game crashes to desktop. I have that crash prevention OBSE addon, but it didn't seem to stop that one.

 

 

Everything else seems alright.

 

Most of the time their is one boss surrounded with a few bandits and its best to just take out the bandits first then the boss may take some extra time to kill i have yet to run into two bosses in the same spot. Ive ran into two bosses in one dungeon but they were at different parts the bosses i fight normally take the longest to kill but the other die relitivly easy. BUt keep in mind i am only a lvl 1 havent been playing very long since my millonth reinstall and im just gettin back into it. and i have had to retreat from alot of my dugeons even tho i bought the rangers armor and weapons.

What do the red saved games tell you? at the bottm it should say what the problem is

and were those games yo had before you installed fcom?
