cih
Hello, a couple of years ago I began working on a mod that fundamentally changed the combat and encounter dynamics of F:NV. I had to stop as I had no time for gaming anymore but now I'd like to give it another shot.I've both Googled and searched the forum for an answer to this but came up empty - do excuse me if this question has been answered before, as I'm sure it must have. Here is what I aim to achieve:Upon launching a new game either be given a preset character or go through the character creation process (not the talky doctor, rather a quick and easy one) then find myself in a blank world, one I can build upon as I go along - I want to use F:NV's assets, but not modify its world - rather create my own from scratch. How might I go about doing this? Thank you in advance for your answers.
jet4571
You probably wont get an answer on how to make an alternate start but that's OK, there are alternate start mods available. I would download alternate start mods from FNV and FO3 then open them in FNVEdit or FO3Edit depending on what game its from and take a note of what was changed. then find those changes in the GECK and see exactly what was done. After that the real fun begins in making your new worldspace and assets to get an alternate start there. If it is going to be a game about the size of FNV and you are doing it alone... well plan on spending the next 3-5 years on it just to get an early beta. thebestdamncourier
On the geck theres the top bar shaped menu. Go to world/worldspaces and either duplicate one or create a new one. There's you new world! Its pretty boring at this point though. Out of curiosity(nosiness) what is the story of this mod?oh an for an alternTe start you should move the vg0001 script marker. I do not know the actual id of this marker, but the alternate start mod/resource will teach you this.
