mezlo Posted May 7, 2006 Share Posted May 7, 2006 Now that I've successfully made a very simple mod using the CS, I decided to start playing with it more. I wanted to see if I could delete something so I chose the Anvil guards (simply because Anvil is closer to the top of the lists). My first thought was to just delete the NPCs. Wrong! That resulted in having "ghost images" of the guards at their posts and Oblivion crashing on exit. So I deleted that .esp and started over. I figured out how to switch to AnvilWorld and I loaded up AnvilMainGate in the render window. I zoomed in and deleted all guard posts. I ignored the form warnings since I figured that if the guards physically weren't there, whatever was assigned to them wouldn't matter. Once again I was wrong. GRRR! The guards are still there! I exit and go back into the CS where I remove everything I can find dealing with Anvil guards. I even went into the Character/Packages menu and deleted what I found in there. I saved and exited and tried it again. The guards were still there!!! They were no longer walking around, but they still responded to crime. SO...what am I missing??? What actually places the guards? I've spent the past 3 hours working on this and haven't accomplished a thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mezlo Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mezlo Posted May 12, 2006 Author Share Posted May 12, 2006 I asked this question on the official forums and received a very simple answer...START A NEW GAME!!! Apparently since my savegames all had info about the guards, the guards continued to show up. I started a new game and my mod worked. Hopefully this info helps other new modders out there.
