PsyberGoth
Hey guys. I was curious as to whether this is even possible, OBSE or no, but would someone be able to make it so that say, a Two-Handed sword would, when un-readied, be stored on the belt, much like one handed weapons? I'm interested primarily for RP purposes, for characters like Arthas or Aragorn and stuff.
razorpony
It's possible.... sorta. Single hand and two handed weapons are handled differently by the game engine. The meshes they use have different properties that Oblivion uses to determine where the weapon is stored and how it's held by the character. I've made weapons that can be changed mid-game using OBSE from single to two hand use, but the animation isn't smooth. For instance, let's say you made a single hand and a dual handed version of an ebony claymore. You could store the single hand version on your hip, draw the weapon, then cast the spell to change to a dual hand version. This would cause the weapon to disappear, reappear on your back, then you'd unsheath it again. Not a very optimal solution. The only way I can think to do what you're requesting is to change the location of the backweapon bone in the skeleton itself, but I don't know if that's possible or what the side effects would be. It might screw up bows, and the animations would need to be changed as well to show you drawing the weapon properly. -Razorpony
PsyberGoth
I supposed i should have clarified. All i was really after was an OBSE mod, similar to the "One handed weapons on back" mod. I'm not really concerned about smooth animations or anything like that, Heck, even a script that would automatically switch the one-handed frostmourne to it's two-handed version as soon as i draw it and changes back to one-handed when i sheath it, so i don't have to dick around with the spell all the time. L33Nexus
Lol I'm pretty sure in the CS there is a way to set your weapons to sheath on the side instead of the back, The only problem you would then have is whether it would clip through the floor or not. If not there's easily a way to change it to sheath on the side in Nifskope, but I'm pretty sure the Construction Set has the ability to do that. razorpony
You have to set it both places actually. Create a 1h and 2h version in nifskope, then set them as 1h and 2h in the CS. It'll function as 2 seperate weapons that you toggle between. The problem is that I don't *think* there is a way to toggle automatically. You might be able to use a scripted spell set as an attribute that's running all the time that would check if a particular weapon is equipped and whether your weapon is drawn, then switches on the fly. I prefer the spell method though since it only runs when cast and doesn't take up processing power by running constantly. I'll look into this and see if it's possible or not. -Razorpony
