Adult Nexus Opinions

I noticed the staff closed the discussion thread on the adult nexus development. I support them closing it, because people obviously can't keep themselves from making a complete moron out of themselves. So, if the staff will allow me, I've opened this thread for CIVIL opinions and suggestions with RESPECT for other's thoughts and not just a pool for them to throw expletives [fancy talk for curse words] out. As I'm sure there are a few people who had worthwhile things to say about this change that could cause a large impact on the nexus sites. That having been said, here's my input.

 

I'm not sure if you should move the adult files to a separate server/site/thing. If it is my understanding, you are doing so because you fear that parents will blame you for their underage kids accessing the adult files. People have a tendency to lack personal accountability. They will blame all existence before they realize their own faults. Your site already has adequate means to prevent underage children from accessing adult content. Parents have no right to blame you for their children accessing this content. It is their fault and their fault alone for not supervising their children's internet use. Let alone the fact they let them play Mature rated games.

 

However, I strongly support creating a more exclusive community such as this. Trolls are sadly, prevalent in the nexus sites. It's also unfortunate that the only way to prevent them from doing so is charging a fee. Some may see that as outrageous, as this site is by modders for modders etc, however they have no right to take this out on the site. It's the trolls that make things like this necessary, and they are not obliged to pay the fee and join the adult nexus, therefore they have no reason to show so much hostility.

 

Also, I think you should reconsider the title. Adult Nexus sounds like a porn site.

Rest assured that your concerns are being considered and the idea is being reviewed and refined. The thread did not need to remain open because there was nothing more that needed to be said. This matter is not one as simple as just restricting mature content from immature persons, but instead one which is aimed at providing a place for the makers of adult content to share their works without dealing with the haters or turning this community into just another (themed) porn site.

 

That said, as a free-loader and cheap male without a father, I will do all in my power to ensure that whatever solution is reached does not infringe upon other free-loaders and cheap bastards from using this site properly.
