Oblivion Backup?

I love modding, but I just recently learned the hard way how important backing up before adding a new mod is... :pinch: My question for you is: Should I just backup the Data folder, or the entire Oblivion folder? I guess I don't really see why I would backup the entire Oblivion folder because perhaps having two might create conflicts, but I'm just double checking. Thanks for your help in advance!

There is no reason to backup your entire folder before installing a mod. Just use a mod management utility such as the Oblivion Mod Manager.

Preparing - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/prep <-- You only need to back up some of the original files. Those are listed in step #1 on this page.

I have only just started playing oblivion.

I am backing up in the same way I backed up in morrowind.

Just after installing I back up the entire folder and name it clean Folder.

This is just a backup backup and I use it as a reference.

After that I only back up the data file, But I also back up the Textures file and the Meshes file when a mod only adds to those files.

This is only because I dont like the 10 minute coppy time when you have a S**t load of mods.

(Not that I ever seem to have the right mods installed)
