[Req] "SIGH" What do i need?

Ok i have been modding for a verry long time, Since Halo 2 release. My modding mostly was console games like Halo 2, Halo 3, MW2 and some other here and there. Now i have been modding computer games for awile like WoW, AOE 3, JPOG and what ever else i find on the net. Now i always loved oblivion but was always pissed at the cool mods for the computer that couldnt be done on a console. Now that i actualy have a pretty nifty machine i can play oblivion on my notebook. For 2 days now i have messed with mods reinstalled oblivion when problems erupt and now i need to completly start over. I should have done this when i first planned on putting mods on oblivion but o well.

Anyway the problems i have been having is mod loading order (i guess). I have had shader errors, texture errors and all kinds of other crap go wrong. The last thing that happen that drove me insane was a Uber problem with CM NPCs. I DL the CM basic thing so i could get more interesting companions and i decided the lineage 2 6 elves would be nice. To my amazment after disabling mods and removing reinstalling and whatnot the problem stayed. All six women have default steel armor, no eyes to the extent you can see through them, dark black untextured skin with some bright purple mixed in together, constant vocal repeates, no hair exept one woman and some other things that i probly dont know about. So im here to ask for some mods that you are supose to use to get things like this fixed. Ill list below the mods i plan on using currently.

CM Companions (The lineage elves) Or somthing you guys could refer to me

A Castle or Mansion (300 Akaviri Stronghold) Or somthing you guys could refer to me

Elven Weaponry

Beautiful People

Custom Race fix

Female eye candy

Glass armor Swap (Makes it look like the Sexy warrior outfit) If you have any ideas for some beter armor packages let me know

Now those are just what i would want to start out with but what i realy need to know is what is all the stuff i need to run CM Mods, Change Mod Load Order, ect. Now i will be super happy if you could take some of your time to post all the Mod packs (Ones that are used to run mods i guess) that i will need for the majority of mods found here.

I pretty much got the mods i need currently but if you want you can list some interesting Castles, Companions, Armor, and any other things that improve the game.

Also theres a guy on here thats doing a realy neat looking vampire mod that adds a questline and vampire factions. Because of course his mod is not finnished if theres any similar mods like that out ther let me know. As for companions im looking for elves male or female. Also i wouldnt mind trying to make my own mods so if theres any good new user friendly tools out ther send em my way.

To sum up all this crap if it was hard to understand

I need all the Starter mods/Things that are used to run other peoples mods and i need the programs used to Fix Mod load errors.

Anyway thanks for your time.

I would go with the Unofficial Oblivion Patch over the Custom Race fix. As for a castle, Hoar Frost is highly recommended. I've heard it has a nice quest attached too (and I think it is categorized under "Quests.") My last warning about your current mod choices is that Beautiful People uses the Elaborate Eyes eye mesh. You cannot use it with mods that need the vanilla eye mesh. Also, you basically have to use one cosmetic mod to affect the vanilla races at a time (without installing a more complicated utility.) It sounds like you have previously run into such a conflict from overlapping cosmetic mods.

Before you look through these, if you are using Win7 or Vista, it would be easiest to manage a modified Oblivion setup if you have Oblivion installed outside of the default folder (Program Files (x86)).

Getting it working does not take long, but using it without getting frustrated may take "extra" time for some. OBMM is much easier starting out.

I posted those in an order that would provide the most "prep." If you really only care about Ren's Hair, Cosmetic Compilation includes many eyes, Ren's mod and uses the vanilla eye mesh.

Cosmetic Compilation - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7531

Edit: Of course, you can stick with Beautiful People. I was just pointing out that little issue that is often overlooked. As long as you do not use multiple overlapping cosmetic mods that affect the vanilla races, you will generally be fine. However, a few quest mods use the vanilla eye meshes, but some of them provide compatibility patches. There are definitely alternatives to Beautiful People though. If the Cosmetic Compilation is not enough, I can certainly point out a couple others.

Edit: As far as recs for other aspects of the game, those listed on the Downloading Mods page are all worth mentioning. You can find my mod list on the "My BAIN Package List" page, and a number of other users have kindly allowed me to host their LOs in the "Real Load Orders" library (under Running Oblivion.) Try to start off small. (I know it can be tempting to dump them on.) It will be easier to figure out conflicts that way.

Happy gaming!

Well the cosmetic mods are fine but realy what i needed was the load order tool that will set up my mods so they dont interfere with others. I have used wyr bash and it was retarded basicly i installed it and could never open it.

So im going through your post with all the links.

Also, that reading list is not as daunting as it looks. All of the " Mods" pages are largely for reference, except for the top portion of Downloading Mods. The first three (and a half for the top of Downloading Mods) links are the most important. You can reference the others at your leisure.

Iv read through alot on the first link and DL a bunch of files ill need to configure. After that and if everything is running fine ill add some mods. Ill also go ahead and just add the rens hair and look for mystic elves or another race so i dont have to use beautiful people.

Also that CM Basic thing that you have to DL for CM companions, ill need that for all companions right?
