DarkeWolf
Please dont get a discussion started about which actors you'd like see play which parts. There's already more than enough of those discussions around on the forums. Thanks! [Edit] To avoid Confusion.... Live Action being where real life actors are involved. Ya know... a modern day movie. Of course CG could/would be involved, but it would primarily be live actors. CG Meaning entirely computer generated graphics. Like the Sacred Ashes trailer, Appleseed: Ex Machina, the Final Fantasy movies, etc. [/edit] Personally, my vote is CG. They did a phenomenal job with some of the trailers like Sacred Ashes. With a full budget, I think they could make an AWESOME feature flick.
danscott84
I think a mixture of live and cg would be perfect. Movies like Avatar and LOTR show that a mixture would indeed be possible and still look incredible.
Corlan
I'll go with CG, though if waht they do is as awesome as what they did in the demos. I would expect great scenes from it, like the Battle of Pelennor Fields for LotR, nothing not fitting into the book and still awesome.
RustyBlade
CGI absolutely but I think they need to have at least 6 different beginnings and at least as many endings and the main character should be different in each version also - just like the game. Should help with ticket sales and one would think the DVD's would fly off the shelf. Not sure if that idea would fly with the pencil pushers though. Or, if they really wanted to try to rake it in, sell it as a 6 pack and probly charge about $100 - $150 for the entire set. One of the things that I would really look forward to, is all the cutscenes that ended up on the cutting room floor, from the game. Stuff that they just couldnt get right with the game graphics. I do not think you can even make a basic 'live action' movie anymore in this generation! LOL! I would not want an all CG one though, but a mix would be perfect. But then Wolf has a point with how amazing the trailers looked ... so now I have no idea what I would vote for. That Sacred Ashes trailer ... man, just ... wow. I was already looking forward to the game when that came out and after I saw it I was sitting on the edge of my seat in impatient anticipation of playing the game. I do not think I have ever seen a more beautiful game trailer, but then maybe I'm just biased! I bet if they did do a movie they would go the 'classic' route with a weapon and shield male lead, don't you think? But lol yes they would totally have to have the variety of endings for the DVD of it! And god, I never buy movies except classics, but I would be the geek in line waiting for the release of this one when the time came for sure. :geek: ____@ Corlan - The music in your signature scared the hell out of me when I came to this thread! I jumped and looked around thinking someone walked into my room with it
danscott84
The thing that scares me about full CG (and yes the trailer looked great but it was just that, a trailer) is that the movements of the characters would not have a realistic look to them. Case in point would be Beowulf. Although it looked great and stunning, the mouths still did not always look natural, and the body movements were at times clunky to put it best. If they did do a full CG, they would need to use the body mapping with real actors like they did with Avatar or Gollum in LOTR, at least to keep the body movements looking natural for the entire length of a movie. Though I think I still prefer the mix aspect of things ... can that be added to the poll or is it too late? Real actors in real locations with some CG tossed in to fill in the fantasy aspect of things. Dear God I would only hope it would not turn out fake both in looks and stupidity of story like how they ruined the last Indiana Jones movie. Ugh. DarkeWolf
Ok, edited the original post to reflect that Live Action doesnt mean ENTIRELY live actors. Pretty much ALL modern movies involve at least SOME CG work. Tried to distinguish more what I meant. Modern movie vs pure CG/cg anime style. I guess another way of putting it would be like this.... Do we want to risk being disappointed by who they chose to play Alistair? Sten? Morrigan? Leliana? Wynn? Or not? (And again, PLEASE dont start posting who would and wouldnt be good for those parts. That conversation is seriously played out all over the net). @Stardusk- LOL Thanks buddy! Just for that I'd have to get you in as well! k, I think it would be appropriate for me to play the DW character from DAA  Now granted, I dont have any insider knowledge or anything, but the sacred ashes trailer... they have a new zealand crew. I'm willing to bet that at least some of it, was actually filmed at a location there. And probly then heavily CG'd like a lot of the avatar movie was. If it was something like that, hell yeah I'd definitely go for it. (Especially if they kept the Leliana, Morrigan and Main Warden actors!) Otherwise, all CG remains my vote. Tho honestly, something like Avatar kinda falls into a realm of it's own. As that flick was more a hybrid of both, rather than being either or.
