Skip the intro scenes

Please someone, would it be possible to have a mod to skip all of the Intro scenes and just get down to business. They are needed for the first couple of play throughs, but after many play throughs they are just mind numbingly boring.

The [esc] key on the keyboard is my very best friend during those :wink:

I honestly havent looked at them, to see if those are actual cutscenes, or if they are bink movie files. Dunno where to find them, actually.

If they are actual cutscenes, then they could each be replaced with blank, 1 frame cutscenes which would be over in about .01 seconds each. Same with if they are bink files, except that it would have to be done in a video editor program which can handle .bik format. And would have to be saved/renamed for the filename of the bink file, and then put into whichever folder those are located in.

Like I said...I can't find them :sad:

 

Also, if you wanna get rid of those Dragon Age and Bioware bink movies that play at the boot of the game, and make the game load faster, here's how to do that.

 

Click your start/windows icon or key on keyboard. In Find or Search (the name of this function varies by version of windows) type in notepad.exe and have it find the notepad program.

 

Open up Notepad. Then choose File/open. Browse to documents/bioware/dragon age/settings. Open the file named DragonAge.ini

 

Now go to Edit/find. Type in intromovies and tell it to search for it.

It should find a line that looks like

 DisableIntroMovies=0

 

Change the 0 to a 1 and then click File/Save.

Viola! No more Bioware logo or EAgames logo! :biggrin:

It's the scenes where they set your story, there is dialogue rather than it being a video clip, I've reach the point now where as soon as it starts I think "Oh no not again".

 

Thanks for the tip on getting the game to load faster I do use the esc key a lot at the beginning :laugh:

Wanted to say thank you age for the excellent tip of getting rid of the blink movies, the hardest part was remembering where to look to open Notepad :laugh:

I edited my original post with instructions on how to find notepad. Sorry about that Ell. I keep a shortcut to notepad on my desktop, and have had it there for so long that I have forgotten that windows doesnt come with it like that. :whistling:

 

I wish I knew where to find those intros, I know what you mean, they are pretty annoying after a while.
