Origins with Awakenings difficulty

i didn't change any difficulty aside from the starting levels, on that note, i found an extremely simple way to level the character up to 20 with a new game which i just tested out on nobles origin, works fine

 

if you feel like you're not doing as much damage as before, it must be the "target" level set to 20, which i believe controls the tier/buffed items for enemy NPCs, they must be maxed out...even in the default campaign it never went above...15 or maybe 17

 

if you like, i can revert those settings to the original, but keep the maxlevels, as well as make it so you instantly start at level 20 when you create a new game, let me know

I have a question tho, with what you have changed does that mean that enemies use higher level abilities, rain of arrows ect ?

its no problem, when it comes to text/internet my motor "mouth" cana be a bit overwhelming, to say the least, id be willing to bet you 20 bucks you and i are the only ones who have checked this thread more than once, and you are the only person who read more than...hmm lets be fair, id say two of my posts heh

anyway, the AIP (ai apckages) were not included because i've only done the dual wield and the two handed, the dual wield is a bit overpowered at the moment, i had a hurlock kick the crap out of me with 2 punishers in a row (didnt know npcs had 0 cool down), have been tweaking by using lower percentages for the ability, but that was a night or so ago

 

what i have uploaded is this

 

areas - level cap modifier for the NPCs, raising max level to 50. this is done through the areas (settings take effect on any "new" area that you havent been to in current game)

 

exptable - level cap modifier for Player, raising max level to 50

 

a "maximum XP" modifier, allowing Exptable to grant you the additional levels, or else you'd get stuck at 25, which is 186k max XP i think, i set it for 50

 

inside the areas, i set every map to have the npcs use the best gear that can be outfitted to them, probably dragon bone materials for both weapons and armor, and if you have daa mounted, probably volcanic (DAA materials in DAO need serious balancing, i have done this but only as a "base", like everything else, im getting things started and fine-tuning as i go)

 

im going to lower the enemy tiers to standard campaign, and have you start at level 15, that way its still pretty tough and if you want more you only have to raise yourself 5 levels (remember they start at lvl 20)

I bet some people downloaded your modification without saying so :)

 

Anyway when its finished and "tested" (by me) ill upload it with full credits to you coz it would be a shame that so much hard work went into it without any recognition and not to mention plenty of joy for others (or should i say pain ? ) lol

you'd be suprised at peoples low tolerance for anything that doesnt have to do with themselves, i personally read everything eveyrone says once i choose a thread, but its usually no more than 1 or 2 threads. most internet users just "browse" through threads, quickly skimming through peoples thoughts and words in search of "something interesting" and most cant even do that for long, ive never understood that but ill never be one to judge a fellow brother or sister either, we are what we are. it is ones ability to focus and not rush things that allows progress for the most part, and that requires patience, anyway im not merlin the wizard or mr miagi and we're gonna not wax on/wax off today, lol, just in the zone right now ;D

 

i hate to do this but the "start at level 20" thing was proving a bit time consuming since i havent even done dwarf origins myself yet, i had to dig, search for the "bh100" style labels and confirm through "hints" so i didnt spoil anything for myself lol

 

in other words, only elf dalish, elf city, noble human, magi human will start you off at level 20, the short guys gotta do it by console for now, im simpyl TOO eager to get back to what i was doing - i know you'll understand heheh

another thing, the hard work and effort is certainly not within these files my friend :]

 

this is nothing compared to what i'm building, just wait

i also replaced the female run animation with the male one, my female character felt like a "barbie" when she ran, now she's tough and i dont think she looks butch for it either

 

i wont start another ramble, it only makes me want to get back to it more

 

so enemy tiers have been restored to default, npc max level 50, player max level 50, and origins mentioned, thats about it my friend

i gotta get back to the deep roads now before company comes over and im forced to stop and wait for them to leave

 

well i just got the call and they are coming, listen, before i go, let me just say these words about uploading/releasing, and i say this with genuine good intentions, im not preaching or claiming to be this wise one who you must listen to, ultimately what you do is in your hands of course

 

people in general can only be satisfied for so long when soemthing is provided for them when they have worked nothing for whatevers in question. no matter how good an initial response is, the cheery heroic welcome will inevitably wear thin and it begins to turn around slowly, but very surely. praises turn into mild complaints, polite requests begin to turn into angst-filled demands, and by the end of the run most forget what it was like to haev never had a "contribution" at all, and live life as if it was always there

 

what im saying to you my friendly, random & sudden stranger-turned-friend, is that this file will eventually cause an issue for someone, somewhere, and eventually that person will seek to contact the source of it, to try and have his way through whatever method of involvement they can use. in other words, i dont want my name out there for anything, i dont want anyone messaging me that i have no affiliation or memory of, and i most certainly dont want my name posted anywhere in a "downloads" section where people from outside of this forum can see my name

 

"what are you, hiding out or something?" not particularly, but why should I have to change this name for skitzo pyschos, its a long story man, but by uploading this, it seriously compromises the "luxery" of doing this kind of stuff, and being able to talk about it with fellow DAO users and to be treated normally, again you can upload it if you want, but i urge you to not mention me what so ever, as a personal favor and for karma purposes honoring someones wish ;]

 

sometimes, when you stumble upon something rare, its best to enjoy it in secret, at least for a while, and these little files are nothing compared to what im bleeding fromt he eyes for, these 3 files are the equivelant to the dirt under your toenails in comparison to the big picture, lol

Ill still upload it but i will respect your wishes and leave it as anonymous ......prevent your hard work and commitment from being endorsed or judged in any way ...basically you want it shut your mouth you dont ...thats fine too kinda scenario .

hah i was about to post man you beat me

 

i was thinking perhaps as an alternative to meet every angle half way, we'll put a readme.txt that links to this thread, and so long as it is not locked, people can find out that way, i suppose its better than just giving it out and being perceived as a "viruz" mod, i should also finish the origins level up on character creation for dwarfs, i hate leaving things undone

 

ill have it up by tomorrow, never uploaded to nexus before and need to see about how to do it anonymous, if thats even possible/allowed, i think you can be in charge of the uploading, ill do the packaging

just feels wrong giving out a file and picture some casual user wanting the extra difficulty and not having any support if it goes wrong, would probably create a thread in this very section asying "i downloaded this mysterious mod" lol, then i'd feel like a major ..richard-head.

 

ill complete it and upload it tonight/tomorrow morning, just got home an hour or so ago and need to finish up a few other things first

Take your sweet time, hmm i might give that cleric mod a go with your alterations, always wanted to play as a cleric, heard there are problems with it

We'll see i suppose how cleric handles overpowered enemies hehehe

WELL WELL I thought ill brief you on your hard work through numerous hours of testing so here we go:

My butt was kicked by an ordinary OGRE yes and i mean not boss but just a normal ogre lol

Now my party was well overpowered wielding the most powerful (not god tho) weapons known to Nexus !

Armor likewise.

My so called OVERPOWERED CLERIC (mod) with all his might and buffs got his ass kicked like a NERD trying to have a fight with none other than BRUCE LEE and im not kidding.

 

The Ogre kept on ramming and grabbing me and my party members and everyone was being thrown around like rag dolls literally ! Im still trying to beat it with no luck so far :P (laughs) NOW THATS WHAT I CALL A CHALLENGE !!!

I was still relatively low level (think around 16 or so ) and this THING was LEVEL 30 !!!! with health at about 2000 at least.

 

Other things i have noticed is that the enemies are a lot smarter using talents and skill like never before.

I dread to see what happens when i stumble upon a BOSS heheheh

 

So you know what ? I cannot wait for the final product mate seriously HURRY UP ! LOL

 

PS im loving every min of it, its almost like playing a new game :)

well, i am glad that its been put to good use my friend, heheh

 

if you feel the combat AI has "improved", it is mostly likely from the package<->level system

 

pretty much how it works is...every npc type has a predefined schematic to follow, so here's an made up example but accurate in method

 

Npc type - Rabid Hamster, up to 10-12 assignable "talents"

 

Levels per talent - Lets say 2

 

So for every two levels the hamster has, it uses one talent

 

Meaning at level 20, it is "fully buffed" with whatever its AI package is configured for

 

this is what i was editing those one days, modifying them to INCLUDE the epic feats, and removing certain "passive" talents...so i could include more "special moves"

 

so yeah, you're going against the toughest packages the default campaign is configured to hand out

 

I tested the dual weapon package i messed with this morning, and these bastards use Punisher and riposte on characters with high armor rating, which sucked for my male warrior, but was beneficial to my female rouge who uses medium armor

 

i really need to balance these things out and test Extensively before ever releasing, or else peoples Mages might get "epic'd" instantly lol, wouldnt be too good, gotta make Each special power, Focus on certain character/stat types so that they dont NUKE the first enemy they see, lol, its a lot of blubbering but i promise it's on point

 

im glad you found everything working fine and fulfilling your challenge needs, before its uploaded i will tone it down a bit, most definitely, and maybe include a few different versions, npc level cap to higher/lower, etc

 

we'll see...as for now right, i have found a way to speed up regular exploration movement, and scaled down animation speed so it looks fluent, player character runs 2.25x times faster during exploration, but doesnt look all "cracked out/hyper" with super fast running animations like when Haste is used,i think ive scaled it just about perfectly - it actually looks quite natural i am pleased

 

darkspawn Hurlock now runs .25x faster than humans in combat, so running from them to exploit corners wont be as easy

darkspawn Hurlock alpha now runs .35x faster than humans in combat

darkspawn Hurlock emissary runs .4x faster than humans in combat

 

same scaling applied to genlock type/rank

 

enemy mabari now runs .4x faster in combat

Party mabari now runs 2.55x faster during exploration (heheh, gives a reason to use him when traveling now :p)

 

those are the only ones i have messed with, as i have been working on the tints some more for the past 3 hours, particularly the leather ones, goal is to change the "blueish purple" tint when silverite etc material is applied, into ...well just wait for me to finish them and ill post screens sometime haha

 

yeah man busy bee, i hate to say it but when i was out with my friends yesterday i couldnt help but want to leave early so i can get stuff done - but one should never prioritize this kinda crap above genuine/authentic friends....only the "fake ones" :p

Edit: I know your busy and all but if you do find 10 mins just check that Bloodworks mod i told ya about and see why the spell "BLOOD ENTHRALL" isnt working like it suppose to.
