Lehcar
Okay, has anyone else noticed how implausible and seemingly wrong the given ages for many of the characters are? I'd like to point out a number of things. Toolset says Fergus Cousland is 30 years old, and Eleanor is 40. So... what the heck? That can only be right if she got married and gave birth to him when she was 10 years old. I'm reluctant to believe that is accurate. Even in a world that parallels the middle ages, I highly doubt 10 years olds having babies is very likely to happen. I know it can happen, but I'm still extremely doubtful this is accurate. Also, there's no sodding way that Gorim is only 18. That's impossible. I'm also reluctant to believe that Trian is only 25 (that's terribly young to have white hair. I would have placed his age at at least 36 or so.)Or that Leske is only 19 (I would have placed his age at around 21-23). Or that Eamon is only 45 (50-55 would seem more accurate to me).Or that Shianni is only 18 (all of the other young characters in the City Elf origin are 20). Or that Olinda is really 45 (she looks a lot younger than that. And why the heck would Leske be dallying with a 45 year old woman if he's only 19?!). Or that Valendrian is really 70 (that seems like a big stretch to me. I would have guessed his age to be around 50 or 60.)Or that Morrigan is 30 (she seems at least a couple of years younger than that to me.) And why does it say Caridin is only 600, when it's explicitly stated in the game that he's been trapped in his golem body for over 1000 years? And isn't Goldana supposed to be older than Alistair? Why does it say Alistair is 32, while she is only 30? And how can Cailan only be 25?? And if Prince Bhelen is 21, then that must mean the Dwarf Noble player character is at least 22-25 years old... hmm.
danscott84
You are very right about the ages. When I made my characters I made a calculated age based on both the story and the toolset. Eamon is 40, Isolde 35, but Alistair is 32? and Isolde believed rumors that Eamon was Alistair's father? What I did was guess Eamon more at 50, Isolde at 45, and Alistair at 23 to 25. I used Leliana (27) and Morrrigan (30) and based everyone else around those two ages and story. (Morrigan I believe is 30 simply because of the voice actress Claudia Black who is mid to late thirties) Then for the Cousland parents and Loghain that same age as Eamon since they fought together against Orlais, then the children accordingly. (Anora and Cailen around 30 making their parents 20 when they were born, etc) As for elf ages, they are harder to predict based on what Lanaya says, that they live longer than their city counterparts. When it came to Wynne, she talks about being old, but to a 20-something player 55 would seem old. Then for her age look I based my aging on Marg Helgenberger (sp) from CSI who is 53. As for the dwarves, no idea on that. I would just guess them at similar ages as their human counterparts and adjust accordingly. The toolset has been shown to be faulty on many things, and I imagine that the ages were just entered in arbitrarily without changes as the game developed. Lehcar
Aye. Also it says the Orlesian occupation of Ferelden ended approximately 30 years prior to the beginning of the story... Bryce Cousland and Rendon Howe went off to war and fought Orlesians when both of them weren't even 10 years old? Umm yeah, I don't think so. Lol. danscott84
BTW, who is Olinda? Is that the merchant you can sell the Lyrium to?
TerraEx
The devs have stated that a bunch of stuff in the toolset (including ages) is outdated/incorrect. It's not adversely affecting anything, so I don't let it bother me :).

elooocin
Who snuck in the crackpipe past security? Busted out laughing, lololol!!! ___________ I really hate with how detailed and amazing this game is that they would jip us on these little details, since to me it does matter - not in a gameplay effecting way, just an ocd kind of way! About dwarfs - I'm not sure about all of them I just always hated that Bhelen is younger than my character yet looks 20 years older! And LOLOL at him only being 21 and looking like that omg! The boy needs a spa day, About city elves - Totally makes sense that Shianni is only 18. After all she acts like it, very bold and fears nothing and goes on about how lucky I am to be getting married since she obviously has not reached the age to find a mate yet. And I always considered my city elf characters to be a young 20ish, just fits the whole story to me. About Valendrian - I'm surprised he is that young considering they opening talk of how he has lived longer than any of them and no one knows how. We find out why he has lived so long during the Dalish Elf quest - so I think it is wrong that he is listed as only 70. Morrigan's age is perfect to me. She looks like she should be 30 so I think everything is perfect on that end! Then for her age look I based my aging on Marg Helgenberger (sp) from CSI who is 53.Holy crap, are you serious? That is one hot looking 53 year old!!!!
danscott84
elcooocin,"Holy crap, are you serious? That is one hot looking 53 year old!!!!" You are correct on both counts. ;P When I was looking for a gauge to base Wynne's age, I started first with Demi Moore (48), then went to Sharon Stone (52) and Marg Helgeberger (53) going with Helgenberger for the look I wanted. I was using Tamara Taylor from Bones as a template for the facial structure, and Morgan Freeman for the personality guage.
brokenergy
Morrigan's age is perfect to me. She looks like she should be 30 so I think everything is perfect on that end! Actually Mr Gaider stated that Morrigan is in her 20's (22 to be exact) so, she being such up stuck b***h over her looks doesn't really surprise me to boast about her age to Wynne (or at anyone that is old to be exact). There is a 10 year difference between the game files and the books that where released (The Stolen Throne & The Calling). Calien and Anora are in their 20's (Anora 20 years and Calien 22~23 years) as well as Alistair, who is 20 and you (the Warden) as well. Wynne sounds like in her 50~60's age bracket as people didn't had long life expectancies in the medieval times, Sten in his late 30's and Oghren in the late late 30's early 40's age bracket as well. Zevran sounds like in his late 20's while Leliana in her early to mid 20's and Shale is around 300 something years old (no surprise there). After that long babble I need a nap so goodnight! :teehee: :teehee:
RustyBlade
I hate to pick nits but the city elf PC is no more than 19.16 years old. If you question Duncan before you go to get married you will discover that he has known Valendrian almost twenty years as he came to recruit the PC's mom only to find the meddling Valendrian bumped her wedding up so he could/would not recruit her. Assuming that elven and human gestation periods are essentially the same and conception occurs as a result of consummating the wedding the PC would be 19 years (and at most) two months old. If there is a sibling we don't know about that came first, the PC could be even younger.
