I played through this last night in less than 2 hours. I was disappointed to say the least! and I'm not hard to please, I've loved all the DA DLC's and stuff so far but this really was nothing special.

I'm most upset with the way Biostore bigged up the Darkspawn DLC so much but when you start playing it you realise its not all it was made out to be...and then suddenly its finished and the credits start rolling! WTF???

 

The marketing on the DLCs/expansions have been known to be a bit on the deceptive side, what with their massive hyping and all.

 

I think most people who are remotely interested in these things should just wait for reviews before wasting their money. That's what I've learned after Warden's Keep and so far I haven't been proven wrong.

you can say that again! short and very dissapointing and i cant figure out how to recruit em dark spawns at first lol :rolleyes: took me awhile to realize i need to use enthral so i can recruite.....geez

 

i hope bioware would make better DLC's FFS oh well :confused: Bane of thedas sux!!!

Killing Leliana was sad until I read her codex about how she got her grubby little hands on my man!

(side note LOL - I was telling my bff about how it said Leliana and Alistair were lovers and how after that I wished I could kill her again, :laugh: And she goes 'NICOLE U ARE A DARKSPAWN! ALISTAIR CANNOT LOVE YOU!' and I was all 'I CAN GET MY DARKSPAWN GAY LOVE ON! DON'T HATE, MAN!' gosh!!! :laugh: made her laugh so I thought I would share!)

But yeah, I totally agree that they need to cut down on these random Add-Ons and give everyone whey really want - Relationship/Love pack!! That is something I would drop 10 bucks or more for easily!!

 

This has done it for me. Some of the things Alistair said to Leliana in DAO after he was supposed to be in love my character where very very iffy, in real life they would have been serious reason to dump him or give him a right good verbal kicking, couple that with his remark about feeling sorry for her in the discussion about party companions, I always suspected he fancied her :mad: Now I can't decide if I should get this so I can kill both of them or just forget this add on even exists.

Nor do I think him feeling bad for her is in any way a romantic notion :laugh: He said she always looked sad and that was why he feels bad for her. And the reason I randomly remarked once, when my character was with Zevran, that Alistair and Leliana should hook up is the fact they both have such strong religious beliefs and it just seems natural that if your character was not around and one or the other needed companionship they would end up together. Especially since we all know Leliana is a little emotional sl*t since she always wants to love everyone -glitches I know but still!!!

Before I start can I say I detest Leliana, it was instant dislike the first time I played and the first time I met her, I did take her out and about a few times, but when my opinion of her didn't change I now give the pub in Lothering a wide berth and don't even see the woman.

 

To answer your question, it was late in the game and Alistairs approval was love, he started this conversation and it wasn't just what he said but the way he said it, that annoyed me I thought it was a bit flirtatious. I'm sure some women don't mind their men flirting with other women, but I would.

 

# Alistair: You know, I've heard about the Orlesian bards.

# Leliana: Who hasn't? They're quite famous, after all.

# Alistair: The stories I heard were a little... racier. It had to do with how a bard assassinated her target. How they were... lulled into complacency.

The second thing I didn't like was the 'dismemberment discussion' he seems to not like everyone to some degree, he's obviously jealous of Zev then when it comes to her he gets all soft hearted and my reply options don't come close to what I want to say which is simply 'I don't like her'. I would have like that option and one more thing why does he never ask about Shale or Wynne?

 

Lastly during their little chats as you run around, she says a couple of things that made me think 'if I had said that to him I'd get minus approval, how come she doesn't'.

Zevran and my character, along with Leliana and Morrigan, were going through Orzammar Commons and Zev starts talking to Leliana about how hard in must have been in the cloister for those years without any, well, romance, and that he couldn't even imagine going that long without any, you know, romance. :biggrin:

 

Then he said that she must be having some strong 'urges' after all that time, and if she wants to he would be happy to 'offer his services' (or something very much along those lines). :verymad:

 

I so wanted to punch that guy in the groin after that. :verymad:

 

To say something like that, with his boyfriend and Grey Warden, walking less than a meter in front, who could kick his rear as easy as clicking his fingers, not a very smart move.

 

I know it's because he's just like that, not because he has feelings for her, it's Zev for the Maker's sake, he'd do anything with a pulse. But it still had me fuming.

 

 

Needless to say, I don't have Leliana on my away-team anymore. :down:

Commiserations Andreweve1, that sucks as well.

 

I went and had a look on the wiki and it does say above certain conversations things like if your warden is in a romance with ? which implies that certain conversations shouldn't take place or be slightly different, who knows, but it seems to me the programmers need to read the same wiki and lift their game. If they ever do get round to making a romance pack lets hope they give it a bit more thought.

*laugh*...Kind of funny, I'd love the options to chime in when he says things like that too, I'd have a few choise words..Then again, I just dont take Leliana or Morrigan with me anymore...Morrigan just annoys the heck out of me so I park her, and well I dont need Leliana when I have Zevran...Works out well. He doesnt seem to flirt with the male team members either so I dont have to listen to stuff like that, and him and Oghren just crack me up, or him and shale...I seem to be a creature of habit, I've never got around to trying Sten either...but Im mumbling.

 

As for how they handle a Romance/Relationship pack, I agree..I'd hope they would take their time with it and do it right. Then again, look how they just sever ties if you import to Awakenings. *scowl*, though I am not into RP..that would be one good reason not to import thats for sure. My warden vowed to travel with Zevran not stay with the Wardens, and they were tostay together forever...so how do I just end up on a street far away without him in sight, doing a Grey Wardens job...and why isnt Alistair there? He's a Warden, King or not..they seem to be in such rarity you'd think they would need all they can get...*smirk* I did hear that there were supposed to be notes from Leliana and Zevran left with you when you imported, cant figure out if they were cut from the release or if its a bug that you dont get them.

 

I just dont see why they havent released such a pack yet, I mean its not like they used really famous people for their VO's, how much could it cost them really...sell those packs at 10 bucks a pop they would make tons, theres a huge calling for it. Heck, I bet 30-40% of the old VO's could be recycled.

 

Ah well, perhaps one day they will get smart and give us what we are really after...Lets just keep our fingers crossed that DAO2 is better then what they seem to be releasing now. :wacko:

As for Awakenings and not having the ability to bring over your old friends/lover...I totally agree, had I known I wouldnt of purchased it either. Unfortunatly I came to Origins late, a few days before Awakenings came out, it didnt occure to me to wait for reviews before I purchased, and I think I was so in love with Origins I didnt even bother reading the covers...That'll teach me.
