Amelliea Posted May 17, 2010 Share Posted May 17, 2010 hi there,i'm really new to oblivion so please don't laugh if this is massively obvious, haha. i've downloaded the raw files from tesnexus onto my computer... but now how do i compress/transfer/transform the files so that they can be used in the game? i'm pretty sure they can't just be plonked onto the oblivion file just like that. do i need this winRAR program? it looks really dodgy and i'm not sure it's safe!! i need some help here.thank you. You should read the OBMM pages linked in the "Related Pages" sections, when you come across them, as that is the utility you should probably use to install your mods. It is the easiest (and cleanest) to start with. Also, WinRAR is not dodgy at all. Do not freak over "beta" mods either. Many of mods stay in "beta". You are really new, so take your time. If you rush, you will create a mess of your Oblivion setup fairly quickly. Do not skip the second step, Installing Oblivion, either because you may need to move your install location, depending upon your operating system. Edit: Another reason to read that second step is so that you will be aware of the steps to take when uninstalling at all, and you should follow the link to do the Oblivion.ini tweaks, as a number of them are stabilizers for all Oblivion setups, modded or not.
