Heyla,

Thanks you three for the pointers on carrying items over. I am pretty sure I'll get the expansion and would have been irked to lose items when exporting over.

edited as I saw the answer for where the recipes are, I usually hit any vendor I see for a look see so I'll find em eventually.

Play through pretty much as much of DAO as you're wanting to, before you get the expansion. It installs patch 1.03 which can be problematic (to put it lightly) to the game, and can seriously conflict with mods. :verymad:

Well, I'm still using the older version, BEFORE she updated with EVEN MORE locations. But yeah, check every vendor, including in Lothering. From what I can remember, she also placed some of them in some of the DLC areas too (another thing that ticks me off, cause not everybody has every DLC!)

Thanks for the reply regarding my questions about Winter Forge.

I thought it was just me installing around 40+ mods that created the problems in patch 1.03. Now I know.

Heya all,

I'm just getting ready to start fiddling with the Winterforge mod I downloaded.

My 1st question is am I able to use the mod to redye existing pieces of armor I have on?

I'm gonna try to make a pair of boots but I would love if the stuff she has on at the moment actually matched in color.

Also, is anyone else unable to open the Forge instructions in the user manual at Winterforge Homepage. I will probably be able to figure it out and did note the author of the mod but the 1st 4 categories under *forge* in the manual don't seem to work.

thanks and happy hunting

GG

Edit: adding

OMG!!! My minds bending and I have no idea what I am doing. I did successfully create the boots but I want to destroy them because I misunderstood the naming and messed that up.

I'm not sure how to nuke them or maybe I should just sell them.

I am also having trouble enchanting, adding inscriptions. I go kill stuff before I scream.

am a bit baffled.

ok more than a bit

I turned Light mode on, I placed the item and the Inscription on the autel. Maybe I am supposed to say Abra Kadabra:P

groan

Easiest thing for a beginner to do is the following; get the cheat codes for the enchantments you want, punch them into the barrel cheat option, put them in the autel along with say, a sword and voila. This is so you know how to do it later.

Bal, not a problem, we like helping folks out around here

Ronin- I will respectfully disagree. For me, the easiest way of getting to learn it is to turn the material checks off (configuration on the barrel) and simply not worry about the cheat codes, the recipes, and reagents.

Hmm I did that, enabled the cheat code popup, learned the recipes for ie. ( pristine firey inscription of arlathan), put the reagents needed along with the sword i wanted to enchant into the autel, but it wouldnt let me enchant it , it says despite my best efforts the halamshiral scrolls remain unfathomable. So what am I doing wrong? Cause with the cheats enabled its not supposed to matter how many ranks of the enchantment skill you have, but for some reason I still cant enchant the item.

Hmm ok figured out that I guess I do have to have all 4 ranks of the enchantment skill to do the pristine ones, even if I use the cheat mode to learn them ... dang.... Anyone know the skill IDs for the enchantment skill in winterforge so I can just use the console to add them, cause I dont wanna have to wait all game to lvl enough times to put the skill points into it, Id like to be able to use it now so that I can enchant the new armor and weapons im making.

OK Nvm I found the add skill points console command so I just added enough skill points to get all 4 ranks lol.

Nobody ever said that. The cheatcodes provide the reagents & scrolls, and that's it. The relevant skill checks still apply.

Anyway, if you're going to cheat because you can't bother with the enchantment you should use the override mode instead of putting up with 168741 cheat popups and console commands. Which is pretty much what I told you on the TWF forum. The cheatcodes are designed for occasional use, they are (voluntarily) a pain when used to enchant every piece of equipment several times.

Heya all,

This is an old post but popped up with the recent reply.

I am having issues with the mod in Vigils Keep. The mod added a roaming PC that won't have dialogue with me. Also looks like the only enchants I can apply are associated with sets. I used to really like the interface that allowed me to add Dex, or melee crit or a whole host of other attribs.

I probably have something checked wrong in the config settings.

cheers

When something that odd occurs, I usually blame the installation since sometimes DAUpdater (and others ?) fails at their job. 'Cause the NPC at Vigil's shouldn't roam at all, for example, he doesn't have that script attached to his resource. So I'd say : "have a go at reinstalling TWF, it may help".

As for the override mode interface, it's no longer on the anvil. That old thingy was a pain in the rump to keep there (it forced me to keep maintaining backward comp' in my routines) so I just created it anew. The new version can also be activated at the barrel and - then - will appear on the new forgesmith's tools actionbar.

Thanks for the Speedy reply.

=)

I noticed when I was looking in DAModder that I already have 2 installs going.

1) The Winter Forge-Awakening V0.5.2b

and

2)The Winterforge V0.5.2b

I'm thinking I should remove both of those, (un-install) force a save w/out the mod,

then reinstall Mod. (?)

That won't mess up my imported character and her items will it?

thanks in advance

GG
