Identity crisis

I have a problem where my character is called the wrong race, it normally happens with the noble human female, but has happened with others. The char. gets called a dwarf or an elf and there is no consistency to it, I now have an issue where i can't get into Orzamar which has happened before where the race error occurred only this time I get two dialogue options; 'I have important business..' and 'I was born in Orzamar..'.

I tried looking everywhere for a similar problem and can't find a thread at all, to make matters worse the console will not appear and my previous solution of exiting to desktop and reloading does not work. I have forced a load with no mods :( but I still can't get in. Arl Eammon tells me to finish the treaties quest and I can't.

Any help will be gratefully received and tried out, I have Awakening and patch 1.03 installed but the game was doing the same thing before.

Are you running Vista? I know on that system if you delete files from the override folder in my documents, Vista will have copies in the other override folder in the progams/dragonage/packages/core on the hard drive. Check there to see if there are residual files that are causing that conflict.

No I am running Windows xp with Sp3, I checked and there were some files from mods I no longer use. i deleted them and tried again and still get the same result. I think i need to get my console running properly and try to get the script sorted or set the quest to the second stage. I will search for options on doing it this way.
