Cleaned-up wasteland

So for purists/loreists absolutely no one, even the much bragging Enclave, made any effort whatsoever to clean up the rubble in the capitol wasteland.

Even if the people were to lazy or scared, that stopped them from having the robots doing the clean-up?

Some in the community question the supposed time line. After 220 years, the only project was to make clean water available to everyone. That's it?

How are there still wooden structures around, wouldn't the surviving people have burned the rubble for warmth/cooking?

How is it that only trash is recyclable? There is so much metal out there and building materials like cinder blocks. Where are all of the guns coming from? They just appear out of nowhere?

There must have been a "Gigantic Armory" hidden in DC, that now everybody that wants a gun, can just go and pick one up along with the bullets?

Some one told me that the generators here , there, and everywhere are nuclear powered, and yet without mods areas that should be well lit aren't.

Neither the Brotherhood nor the Enclave are doing anything about the mutations, and a certain action makes no change at all.

In 220 years technology went nowhere. Their scientists just sat around twiddling their thumbs.

By the way, where did Dr. Li get her academic training? There are no schools, and she's not 200 years old.

Speaking of schools, was Springvale Elementary supposed to service the entire DC area? There isn't enough parking and there are no buses. As big as SE is, why then is the playground so small?

No one has to answer this. And calling it lame is just so you don't feel guilty in public for agreeing with me.

Yes, flaws like that make the whole story seem unbelievable, right?

So lets mod Washington into one big deadly radioactive plain of glass with no human life anywhere. That is what you could expect after an all-out nuclear war. That sounds like fun, doesn't it?

1) If you've not noticed the vast majority of robots are owned by organizations which have gone extinct, etc.

2) It's a big place, and considering the sheer scale of nuclear war's devestation it's surprising that there are so many human suvivors. They would sooner burn the dying trees than places which can be used as shelter.

3) Trash is a global term, and can easily be applied to the debris. Game mechanic wise is another story.

3b & 4) If you've not noticed there are several military facilities, including a reasonably large military base / armoury. Considering Fallout canons culture post-war, it's not surprising there are so many firearms about.

5) Nuclear Generators naturally require management, they cannot work standalone without human intervention. Even so, lightbulb's themselves, power cables etc are not going to last 200+ years without matinence.

6) You'll find that there is ALOT of technological equipment produced post-fall. Granted it may not have any form of major breakthrough, but without untainted time & resources aswell as sufficient manpower it's to be expected.

7) It can be assumed that she was taken on as an apprentice by another person with expertise, either way there is nothing saying that the title may not simply be self-proclaimed.

8) Schools? It can be easily assumed that there are other schools not directly on the map area... It can also be assumed that other schools within the mapzone were either completely obliverated in the attack, or simply crumbled away.

Ultimately. It's a game... Stop complaining and simply enjoy it for what it is.

This is an alternate history where the 50s lasted forever and they were all terrified of filthy commies. You would expect every red-blooded American to be packin' and the assault weapons ban would be unheard of.

At least that's what I tell myself.
