Draken15
So, i've been trying to mod different thigns in DA and some of them work and some don't. The ones I have the most trouble with are weapons and armor. I'll download the file, put on my desktop (or other location) go to my dragonage updater, and then when I select the file to upload it to da, instead of dowloading, it'll just open the folder to the other sub-folders.....why is this? I'd appreciate any help!
DarkeWolf
Heyas Draken welcome to the nexus forums. :smile:Most likely the cause is that whoever made the mod didnt pack it in a format that daupdate.exe recognizes. Which is strictly .dazip files.I recommend damodder instead. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=286it recognizes .dazip, along with .zip. and you can just drag and drop your downloaded files into it, rather than have to go browsing for them thru the windows. You may also need 7zip www.7zip.com as many modders will pack their mods in .rar and .7z7zip can decompress these files, and then you can extract the files from within them and DnD them into damodder. Hope this helps!-DW
Pacojuerves
Hey Darkewolf im sort of having the same trouble but with the damodder. i think it is because with mods that say u need the Daupdater, it doesnt work for me. When i drop it in the damodder, it says it is incompatible and wont load in the game even though it installed in the damodder. Thanks for the help

Pacojuerves
ok im not sure what u mean by the link but what i can tell u is that any mod that says it needs the daupdater in the directions for installing it doesnt work. For example the warden runic armor doesnt work because in the directions it asks for the daupdater. Thanks. By the way im not the least bit hispanic
DarkeWolf
Oooooops! Sorry about that! The city I live in has a pretty considerably sized hispanic population. I guess it's starting to become a habit that I didnt realize that I had. Sorry! Ok, so you get a message that says that it's incompatible. What format are the files in that you are trying to install? Are they .dazip? .Zip? .7z? .Rar?If they are .rar or .7z, thats the reason. DAmodder can't recognize those two formats. You will either need to convert them to .zip or .dazip.In which case you would need to right click on the .rar/.7z folder and choose Extract to new folder. Then right click on the new folder and choose something like add to new .zip archive.(that option varies by its terminology, depending on which compression program you're using). Once yu've got it converted to .zip you can just dragndrop it into damodder. BTW, I can no longer recommend 7zip for this kind of stuff, as I've been informed that it now installs a bunch of crappy adwares along with it. So I'd recommend peazip http://www.peazip.com now instead.

DarkeWolf
Ok, you're gonna have to give me some more information here. Cuz if it's not the file format thats causing a problem, then I dont know what's going on.You're gonna have to tell me what happens when you try what. From the limited info I have, it sounds like you may need to configure daupdater.exe but I dont know enough about your problem to know that for sure or not.
