Weapon Mods

Hey. I'm new to importing mods, I have come across a problem. All of the weapon mods i try to import dont seem to work. Other mods like NPC and sky mods have worked fine and were easy but I just can't work out the weapon mods.

 

So I guess I am wondering if anyone can helo me out by listing some things I chould be doing with the dds files or whatever. Thanks.

I have encountered a similar problem. I think it has to do with where you put the verious elements of the mod. Meshes and Textures have to go into Meshes and Textures files. Not only that but they have to be properly placed. If they were in a dedicated folder in the RAR then they have to be properly placed.

 

Example

the mod of Boomstick has the basic Boomstic.esp + a folder: Meshes. In Meshes is another folder titled weapons. in that folder is another folder titled Boomstick. inside that folder is Boomstick.nef

An easy misake is just to put Boomstick.nef in the meshes folder. However because the .nef was within a folder that was within the Meshes folder (ie Meshes\weapons\boomstic) you need to put those folders into the meshes folder - unless the weapon folder is already there.

 

So the Rar looks like this

Boomstick.esp

Meshes\Weapons\Boomstick\Boomstick.nef

 

Boomstick.esp goes streight into Data

Boomstick.nef goes into Data\Meshes\weapons\Boomstic\

And not just into Data\Meshes

Textures have to be similarly placed too.

 

Sometimes mod authors don't put the mesh and texture files in the right places either. I just dloaded a file with lots of weapons and some of them were invisible and some items that were visible had no icon.
