Gigastrike
I've downloaded the script extender and moved the necessary files to the file that contains the Oblivion.exe, as the read-me stated. However, I can't figure out what to do from there. It doesn't show up when I run Oblivion, and if I try running the file itself, it just opens Steam (I downloaded Oblivion from Steam). Whenever I try to activate a mod I downloaded, it just says that I need to have the script extender installed (so I guess there is something else I have to do). Could someone help me out? I'm running Vista, downloaded Oblivion from Steam, Oblivion is fully patched and has the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions, I'm using the mod manager, and I'm using script extender version 18. Tomlong54210
For the Steam version, you launch via the regular launcher. There is no special launching app. Also, you should turn off the UAC on the Steam folder. Google for it if you do not know how to do that. It is in the folder's properties somewhere, I think. Tomlong54210
Which files did you install for OBSE? Someone else was having this issue, recently, but I have been troubleshooting so many different things that I am not sure I can find it. I will take a look through my posts, however. Gigastrike
I moved "obse_1_2_416", "obse_editor_1_2", and "obse_steam_loader" into my Oblivion folder as the read-me said. A couple text documents followed them, though.
Tomlong54210
That is fine then... I did not find that post, and I am dreading that it is actually among the comment threads... I will be on the lookout for it though.

What directory is Oblivion installed in?The Steam folder is in the Program Files (x86) folder. The OP would have to reinstall and move Steam to move Oblivion.
