Anniria
Good news!! I haven't tried SI or the patches yet but it's running good so far!
Tomlong54210
OSR, Streamline and I do not know what other utility you are talking about would not, on their own, cause the game to fail to start. OSR does not modify the Oblivion.ini, anyway. Streamline, however, does, but you can turn off that feature, as many users choose to do. SL.ini Tweaks - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/stabilization/streamline <-- It is important, however, that the SL INI file is setup properly. What is this other utility that you have? PlasticOnoMan
you said you had a bunch of old mods you don't use anymore? I'm trying out completely uninstalling/deleting all my Oblivion files, defragging and cleaning the drive, then reinstalling, will let you know if it works as normal Vanilla. If it does then that's what I would suggest, then only download mods that you are using NOW. Personally I'm cutting back on alot of the mods I WAS using to, hopefully, not only let the game run, but run smoother. when i said older mods, i meant mods i had been using for a while, like since i started playing the game. as for cutting back on mods- maybe i could lose two or three- but... i don't know, i really feel they're all pretty much essential. and i haven't even begun to install any mods that add quests or towns. so i'll probably only be adding ones. (have about 60 right now)i've found its kind of addicting. i'll think 'okay, i have the game just right, no more mods' then i'll wonder if there's a mod for this or that, then i'll look it up and end up installing five or six other mods. i began looking up info on overclocking about a month ago but put off actually doing it. if i run into any major problems with fps, i'd probably end up trying to do that. Anniria
It works completely! Now to reinstall the mods. So if all else fails you can do what I did.

That script optimization mod is buggy, and it does not help much, if at all. That other mod was made obsolete by Streamline a long, long time ago... Get Streamline and remove the buggy thing and the old thing. Edit: FYI: Outdated Optimiation

Tomlong54210
They are their own problem. However, that combat mod may indeed change the INI. I do not know much about it other than that it has long been made obsolete by Streamline. Please remove those two mods, and setup SL.ini using the page I linked earlier. If you actually read that page it tells you about the setting that alters the INI, so you can turn it off.
PlasticOnoMan
They are their own problem. haha- found that funny for some reason. checked the combatfps page, didn't notice it hadn't been updated since 2006. will take your word for it on the script optimizer. thanks.
