In Search of Possible Companion Suggestions.

Greetings and Salutations,

I'm rather new to the PC version of Oblivion, and must say I rather enjoy downloading and trying new content which brilliant - or not so brilliant, but slowly learning - modders have created. A quick off-topic thanks to said personages. During my exploration of content, I have downloaded and tried many Companion-based mods in favor or ridding myself of the rediculously plain - and thoroughly annoying - companions from the Vanilla content; need I say more than the mentioning of the "Adoring Fan?" Through this trial and error method, I have encountered a varied arrangement of quality companions from the bad (in hopes of not hurting anyones feelings, I shall keep this particular opinion to myself), the good (Strokker Wolf - annoying commentary, mediocre voice acting, largely over-powered at early and mid-levels, but an excellent effort with well founded innovations towards options and companion-story progression) and the excellent (The Butcher of Armindale - Heart-wrenching and relatively Dark, which hard effort is clearly seen and felt). Whether good or bad, each mod has caused me to want to find a new one to outdue the former, or offer a new outlook on what a companion can be or do.

The purpose of this thread is to simply ask which mod (or mods) you, the person who has generously taken the time to read this, would suggest to me. It is in this way that I might get referred to a well developed mod that I previously overlooked for what ever reason, or even test a mod newly integrated into the system; as well as a fun "surprise" from the tedious "click and download" efforts from page to page.

While I'm not opposed to female companions, I'd appreciate a mixture of suggestions. I haven't encountered a large list of male companion mods that have been "awe-striking," and am interested in finding more. Romance-able companions are entirely optional - I haven't tried a large number of them, none at all from the female mod pool.

Thank you for your time.

Lady~

I just gave this list to someone else wanting companions. I don't know if this is what you're looking for but this is my list and suggestions:

I have several companions that do not require CM or CSR. I usually make them over as soon as I get them with new clothes, armors, weapons, wigs, jewelry, etc. They are all pretty good, and all except Sierra are set to essential, meaning they can't be killed. I have quite a bit of fun, seeing how different I can make them look.

I recommend these below. For each one, except Red Sonia, I have screenies posted so you can take a look a the changes I've been able to make.

Neeshka by Rsdnt-Evle

Companion Keric by MrUniq

Stoker Wolff-Male Companion Only (there is also a larger quest version) by SultericDrums

Astrianna-Montana's Sexy Companion II by MontanaBlueSkies (she does naughty things, lol)

http://www.tesnexus....le.php?id=21476

Companion Shard and Skar (a warrior woman and her pet wolf, I gave lots of feedback on her thread, she's antisocial, lol) by Mr. Uniq

http://www.tesnexus....ile.php?id=5479

Rhianna Redux (although after awhile she will not follow commands to go with you) by Jumonji

http://www.tesnexus....le.php?id=15841

Companion Thelias by MrUniq

Red Sonia-Special Edition by ThePriest909

Companion Alandria by MrUniq

Companion Vilja-(voice acted by her author with over 1500 lines of new dialogue!) by Emma

http://www.tesnexus....le.php?id=28977

Sierra from SamLake's Oblivion Collectible Cards Mod can become a companion, although she is not set to essential. Still does well and can take care of herself. The only thing with her, is when you "share loot" meaning give her things, she strips down naked. It takes going thru several doors for her to re-equip her stuff. Still a great companion. Plus you get great cards to collect and some quests with this mod.

I have each of them living in different houses, mostly house or castle mods. These are versatile companions that are good fighters and it is fun, as I say, to dress them up.

I recommend Apachii Goddess and Apachii Heroes stores for clothes, along with Tona Clothing mod. I use a mod called Ring of Companionship by Logintodownload (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18461) to make sure they are all kept as companions in my circle. I think you'd be more than happy with any of these.

EdwardNorth's Castle Tantrivaylia gives you the opportunity to have a whole army of folks in two communities that will accompany you on quests. They don't change clothes or accept objects, but they are good company and excellent fighters. I hope that helps!

P.S. The Vampire Hunter is SultericDrums' large quest mod featuring a redone and much better (according to the author) Stoker. He did the voice acting himself on both Stokers. Vilja is amazing with all of her new dialogue. A lot of work from this author, Emma. Sierra is also voice acted by one of the team doing that mod. Very clever, but nobody beats Vilja's dialogue. Astrianna also is voice acted by one of her team members. She can be annoying, but all of her dialogue is unique to her.
