well there isn't any single merchant in the game that can buy the katana at full price, or anything over 10k at that matter unless you cheat. if you have tribunal the master smith carrys 8k but you want a high reputation with him to get the best deal, the caldera creep has 5k and trades 1:1 and the drunken mudcrab on an island in the south has 10k and trades 1:1.

you can always edit the game with a merchant who has tons of gold and will trade a lot, but that's pretty much cheating.

To use the creeper or mudcrab effectively just keep selling them cheaper items (under 5K or 10K). After you have sold them 40K or so of stuff you can start selling them Daedric and Glass stuff by taking the cheaper items in change until your first transaction is at or below their buying limit. Rest or wait 24 hours, right there, and their cash regenerates. Then sell them back the some of the items you took in change again up to their buying limit. Keep repeating until you have sold all the items back. For a 50K Daedric Katana this requires 10 sets of transactions with the creeper (assuming you can get 5K exactly each time - which may not be possible.)

woa, wait how does that work, that's really confusing. If you're selling them stuff how can you sell them 40k items when you nab all their gold.

another great deal is to take that stuff with you when making constant effect stuff, when you buy the enchantment it'll cost around 80-100k, then load the NPC with a lot of glass and daedric stuff to get your gold back.

Let's try again. Simple example: Suppose I have an Ebony Bracer (5K) and a Daedric Dagger (10K) and the creeper has nothing in his inventory. Sell him the Bracer and get the 5K. Wait 24 hours right in front of him. Sell him the Daedric Dagger for 5K plus the Ebony Bracer (your change). Wait 24 hours, then sell him the Ebony Bracer again. I've done this with the Lord's Mail (190K). It takes a while but it is not cheating, just a little cheesy.

If you bargain with an Enchanter before paying for a large enchantment then the cash you paid for the enchantment is available for bartering. The downside is that you get at most 60 cents on the dollar (less with a higher Mercantile skill! )

For that reason I prefer the creeper method.
