Weapons of the Wasteland proposal

I'm not sure if this will get any traction, or notice, especially from the authors whose attention I'm trying to grab, but here goes anyway..

 

 

Proposal: Weapons of the Wasteland (WotW) Weapons Mod

What is WotW? Weapons of the Wasteland, is a proposed all inclusive weapons mod bringing together the top lore friendly, semi-lore friendly and general weapons mod from across the New Vegas Nexus in one giant easy to install mod.

Why ask for such a huge mod? All the same lines of mods for skyrim such as Immersive Armors, or Immersive Weapons, I'd like to bring together some of the most talanted weapon authors and their mods in a single all-inclusive weapons mod pack.

Would you have an installer? The answer would be yes if I had the programming experiance to build such a thing, but it's still something I'd like to do.

MCM Menu? If it's possible, yes. I'd love to have an MCM menu akin to IA's MCM menu that lets you choose what weapons are distro'ed into the world and availabe in real time.

Why not include the Stalker pack and Classic Weapons pack? Both of those packs are awesome, and I'd love to include weapons from those packs if their authors were up for helping to build something that would add hundreds of weapons to the wasteland. However, there's a great deal of overlap between the weapons listed, and the Stalker and FO Classic Weapons Packs. Again, if we could remove those duplicates, or choose the better quality versions and include them both? That'd be great, though this pack idea moves to add weapons that are not already in the 3 major packs.

 

Aren't you asking for a whole lot? Yes actually, yes I am and I realize that. But I hope these authors can put aside any pride, and all come together to make another great F:NV weapons pack that stands alongside Weapons of the New Milienna, Stalker Pack and Classic FO Weapons Pack.

IF you were going to do such a huge addition. Might it not be easier to also rebuild the entire weapons list?

 

Some how make sure all the weapons are represented while still being slightly different (IE why have more than 1 9mm pistol if their stats are identical).

 

I would suggest sorting out your calibers and classifications and adjust where your models sit accordingly. Then if you have similar weapons in the same caliber add specific mods so that each weapons has slightly different functionality.

 

Have each caliber represent by at least one auto pistol, revolver, smg, rifle (single action), rifle (semi auto\auto), Heavy weapon, and maybe something wacky for kicks.

 

This way you don't end up with a ton of cosmetic weapons but you still end up with variety and you don't need so much ammo.

 

Be nice to overhaul the ammo too but that may be intensive.

I agree with this entirely. It would be great to assemble a package of as many high-quality weapon mods as possible, and hopefully merge them together to save a TON load order space. I'd suggest looking at the Combined Weapons mod for some lore-friendly melee and throwing items(it even has one explosive item as well). Homemade grenades is nice as well for lore-friendly, home-crafted weapons. Combined Weapons allows crafting of its weapons AND integrates them into the leveled lists, while Homemade grenades just adds them all as crafting recipes. Raudhan2300 made some interesting(albeit not very lore friendly, some of them) weapons as well, but I'm pretty sure they're not integrated into the leveled lists(you may have seen some already if you have Monster Wars, which uses some of them).
