And he replaced the regular mod program to run on. I will take a picture and see if anyone can help me with my problem.. bben46 Posted May 23, 2010 Share Posted May 23, 2010 esm, esp, bsa and other Oblivion related files should all open with Oblivion.exe or if you have it, Oblivion Mod Manager.exe. Sometimes they will show in the properties as opening with an unknown application and that seems to work also. Did he install Oblivion Mod Manager? mainly what happens is if i apply a mod, it will not work and the file will be there for nothing, i srsly need help on what to do maybe some remote assistance? SkullKnight Posted May 24, 2010 Share Posted May 24, 2010 I dont see any problem with what you did. You just changed .bsa files from opening with no program to opening with oblivion. You can reset it back through control panel -> default programs -> set associations. The thing that it used to open with, "Windows Shell Common", is just a part of windows that handles unknown files and not a "regular mod program". It may be a bit unsightly, but it shouldnt affect how your game runs. You shouldnt have to open .bsa files anyways. If you do, you can always change the file association to the program you want.
